I initially sat with Lisa Angel and asked multiple times if she would continue to represent me due to a negative review I had read about her not being the attorney who actually dealt with the client. I should have listened to the review. She never met with me again and only talked to me on the phone a couple of times afterward when I would leave multiple messages. I was given another attorney that was available whenever I needed help or advice. She was very prompt in answering all my questions and would email me at early hours or late at night. Her counsel was sound and unemotional. The biggest issue I found was in the separation document itself. My ex-husband and his attorney found multiple errors (mostly in grammar and spelling), and I found many, many errors myself. The biggest concern was a critical error in the location of a piece of land that was part of my inheritance. I was also required to provide financial documentation of every penny spent, invested, and that was a part of my credit history, however, it was not even asked about my husband. After I brought this matter up we were too close to a settlement agreement so I did not push the issue. If I had it to do over again I may well have hired this firm again. I would not have been so quick to take someone's advice and taken my time to research other options for representation.
