We just loved this hotel! It is really a classic Bed and Breakfast, with the friendly owners on site and ready to help you with whatever: booking a dolphin boat, supplying beach towels, advising where to stay on your way back to Auckland etc. We didn't actually get to experience the breakfast, as we usually don't, being night owls and all, but I trust it is really good.
The view from our room was dreamy. This hotel is up the hill from the other hotels along the main strip, but this allows for the best views of both the ocean and the hills. We walked back and forth to town; it was no big deal and about 15 minutes.
Request the top corner room with the deck - you won't be disappointed.
The bathroom was large and well-equipped with shampoo, conditioner, etc. and the kitchenette was very handy. I appreciated the cream in the fridge for morning coffee.
