I found Andrew by way of Google and left a brief voicemail explaining my circumstances. Andrew responded, and we set up a time to talk through my options. In that call, he was incredibly knowledgeable about the buyout process, what to expect, how to think through my options, how he would represent us, and was responsive to my questions. Ultimately, the entire buyout process consisted of just 2-3 phone calls and back-and-forth emails with Andrew over the course of a few weeks. Once we decided to move forward with Andrew representing us, he took over the communications with our landlord. All that was needed from my roommate and I were decisions around how to respond to our landlord's offers, which made the process much less stressful. In the end, we did not reach an agreement with our landlord, which was our ideal outcome given the offers we were getting. This also means that all of Andrew's time spent advising us was complimentary, and never at any point did I feel Andrew was pushing us to agree to anything, so I am writing this review with the hope that it serves at least some sort of return. That all said, this is a long way of saying thank you. Andrew was a rockstar and I hope my (and many others') reviews are a testament to his value. Appreciate it!

He did not charge a penny and although we did not end up requiring his services, are grateful for the straightforward and helpful guidance that he provided. He is clearly not only a successful and experienced attorney, but also an advocate in every sense for tenant rights. I wouldn't hesitate to engage him in the future and highly recommend anyone needing help with their tenancy matters to consider his services.

Miranda Legal Services is the best person and place to get help with my legal paperwork, contracts…read moreand research. Kriss is like Erin Brockovich. If you don't know who that is, watch the movie Erin Brockovich (2000) starring Julia Roberts. If money wasn't an option, I'd still hire Kriss FIRST before I would an attorney, or at least ask her for a referral first if I needed to work with a good one - just my opinion. I'm sure she has a good team and only works with the best. Personally though, I think she would be a great attorney, if she was one. I've hired a lot of Attorneys and although she is NOT a Lawyer, Kriss Miranda is the best paralegal and is better than a lot of attorneys I've hired in the past for these reasons: 1) She gets a lot more done and quickly. She communicates well. She does detailed, quality work. 2) Kriss always responds quickly. I've had so many attorneys that don't even have time for me or are too busy and they don't email you or call you back, etc. I've had some attorneys to where I had to chase them down just to get status of my case, or a simple update. I'm sure Kriss gets busy, but at least she is really great at returning inquiries, and gives the time to listen to me and issues I may have, even late after business hours and weekends too, just to get the job I need done! 3) Kriss pays attention to the details. To get the level of attention to detail Kriss does naturally, you usually have to hire an entire law firm, or at least multiple attorneys / lawyers. I know this from experience. Again - to get an idea - watch the movie Erin Brockovich. 4) Kriss is really good at research and asking the right questions, she is personable and can trust her by my side and can point me in the right direction. What I mean is that having Kriss is like having a sister in your corner. It's not that she'll lose control or will throw chairs in the courtroom - what I mean is that she'll be passionate and emotionally invested to see you get the best possible outcome. 5) Kriss is honest. Although she can't give you legal advice, she'll make sure the papers get done correctly, and tell you straight up / flat out what the range of possibilities could be if rules aren't followed correctly. Read the other 5 star reviews. There was one recent review I don't agree with (hopefully it gets removed) - because the yelper wasn't even her client. Yelp is for clients and actual customers, not for people who are sore just because they lost and she won against them. But I guess it goes to show she was successful in winning that situation. It literally took me days of calling nonstop to find a good lawyer - and somehow found Kriss instead, I'm so glad I did. If you want someone super smart and passionate like Erin Brockovich - and you want them to care about you like family - you'll get Kriss Miranda in your corner.

They are awesome! A panel of at least 3 trained volunteer mediators help you resolve conflict. They helped my co-worker and I. We are now good friends to this day. Thanks Community Boards! I wish I were more like them. They have helped me in so many ways I can't even begin to explain. Plus, I have to get back to work.

The idea is that once you can see things from each other's points of view and start to unobjectify each other, it becomes easier (less agitated) to talk about the problem and to figure out a mutually beneficial solution in a collaborative way. Simple concept, but like many things, harder to realize. After observing the conflict resolution techniques in action a few times, it seems more doable each time as I understand the process better. I learned a lot from CB about conflict resolution techniques. Also how to be a better listener. Very useful as conflicts are part of life and handling them well can build relationships. CB also provides training to schools, and to people interested in learning mediation. More information about this on CB's web site. Low-cost mediation by professionals is also available.
