Ben came highly recommended by a friend I love and trust. I called him late afternoon on FRIDAY and left a VM. I didn't hear back from him until the following WEDNESDAY he left a VM with all kinds of excuses why it took him so long to get back to me. I called him back immediately hoping to catch him and left another VM. NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. I texted him on the day before i was due to go to the job and asked if he might be able to meet me there to take a look and measure for a quote, he texted back "Im not available today, one of my men is out sick and I am swamped" I wrote it off as being too short notice, I get it, it was a longshot. Several days have gone by and still no follow-up from him. So, I hired another guy. Turns out he owns his own business and helps Ben when Ben is "swamped". Ben told him it was his job and that he couldn't allow him to do the job except "on his own time". Remember, this guy owns his own business! I never hired Ben, he never looked at the job, he never quoted it, I COULDN'T GET HIM TO CALL ME BACK Let alone show up for the job! So, I got a bunch of texts from him when he found out I had hired another company, I asked if he could call me. He DID!!!! But, he started with a whole rant of stuff that had nothing to do with what I wanted to talk with him about. I asked if I could interrupt him and he stopped and listened for all of a split second before interrupting me again to become defensive when I told him I had not hired him and felt he had no right to prevent the other company from performing work for me. What he kept saying is this guy is his foreman and works FOR HIM. I looked up the other company and he is licensed and owns his own painting business. I proceeded to let Ben know why I hadn't chosen to hire him and his only response at that time was "well after my text YOU never called me back either". Am I missing something? Two phone calls and VM, one text and I am in the wrong? I told him when you don't call back, you don't follow up with any info of when you can get out to the job to furnish a quote.....you make the caller feel like Sh&t to which he said "Now you're cursing at me?" Really? Im telling you how you make people feel when you can't make or find time to call or email or text back for days and you're gonna get upset that I said sh&T? I WISH THAT WERE THE END....... then I told him that if he cannot take constructive criticism and consider it a learning experience how can I even think about hiring him? He said "good I didn't want to go to Avon anyway" AND HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I wasn't surprised. read more

Ben said he was coming over to touch up the last job that was a disaster even though it was a holiday. Come to find out he never showed but had time to protest against some song. It's the National Anthem. I wish he would have followed through to fix the job. read more
