It's in the middle of a residential area and looks a bit worn but the food was great..I got catfish with chicken wings and fries, the pulled pork sandwich, and the pineapple coconut cherry cake. Wings were great and interestingly had some dark meat. Catfish was excellent and the pork sandwich was perfect and overflowing with meat. The service was good and the cook came out too and was friendly. Ask for condiments and utensils though because they don't automatically put them in the bag.

The other gentlemen were seated 2 tables away from us. They spent their whole time on the phone. I understand emergencies come up or people have to take business calls. I also understand most restaurants do not have a policy prohibiting phone calls. But when the restaurant is quiet, people usually have enough home learning to not have a conversation on speaker phone to where EVERYONE can hear what is being discussed. We asked politely the first time for them to turn the volume down yet they kept talking. The second time we were not so nice. It is basic, social etiquette to not be rude but unfortunately, social etiquette is lacking in so many people. It's not like we were at McDonald's -- this is a nice restaurant.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere that was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. We didn't have to wait long for a table, and once we ordered, our food came out surprisingly fast. It's always nice when you don't have to wait forever, especially when you're hungry. The food was the highlight of our visit. Everything tasted fresh, was well-prepared, and was full of flavor. You could tell care went into each dish. The portions were satisfying, and every bite was enjoyable. We both finished our meals happy and agreed that we'd gladly order the same dishes again. What really made this visit memorable was how well everything came together. Fast service, delicious food, and genuinely friendly employees created a great dining experience from start to finish. Sometimes that's all you're looking for when you go out to eat, and Sake vs Tekila delivered. We will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. I was expecting this to be a coffeehouse with food but this really is a food place that offers coffee. So temper your expectations if you plan to go specifically for the coffee. I ordered a lavender latte with about half the sweetness that it would normally be served with. The latte was extremely milky - no joke it had to be at least 96% milk. It was fine? Not great. Just tasted very much like lavender milk. Our food was hit and miss. The biscuits and gravy was a miss. It was a little gelatinous and on the thick side and we found the plating off-putting. (Served in a bowl filled to the brim.) While the pancake plate with an over medium egg and bacon was a winner. Everything here was cooked perfectly and the taste was great. I would recommend the cuisine part of Jay's but I wouldn't recommend the coffee based on my experience.

I took it back in and returned it- the lady with shorter hair said "oh I bet that is his order". The lady cooking asked what I ordered and said she did not have a ticket, but could make it in 5 minutes- by that time I was sadly discouraged and told them no thank you. There is obviously a problem with order taking - so I guess I won't go back. Shame because I really enjoy their burgers.
