I needed to replace my fence. It's was a mess and it was long overdue. I called the office, left a message and got a call back a few hours later. We set up a date about two weeks later for the owner to come out and give me an estimate. Day of he comes out and from the time he parked the truck until the time he got back in it was maybe ten minutes. Asked two or three questions and said it was all he needed and that the quote would come via email within the next few days. About a week later the email and the same estimate shows up in the mail the same day. The estimate is insanely high. Closer to 20K than it is to 10K for 160-ish linear feet of 6ft basic white vinyl privacy fencing and 2 gates. I didn't ask for anything specialized, custom, top of the line or exotic. Only bare basics. WTH. After a few days I called the office and left a message about what the price would be if we removed the old fence ourselves and never got a response which is what I assumed would happen. I'll take their silence to mean...??...the job is too small and they don't want to deal with it since there isn't enough money involved so let's give an unrealistically high quote that checks the box that a quote was given even if I would have to be an idiot to agree to it? Again, I don't know. They never returned my call or my follow up email so I'll take their silence to mean that it's time to move on, and I did, to another company who did a fantastic job for less than 10K. I get it. It's a crazy world we live in right now with supply chain issues, soaring prices and companies having lots of ongoing staffing issues which is why my rating isn't lower. But at the end of the day, there are times when you just get a vibe or feeling that the person/company you're dealing with isn't interested and that's exactly what I think happened here.

Their estimate was sent by email as a scanned document - no further instructions or discussion. When attempting to call the company for clarifications on the installation, I got voice mail - left messages - did not receive return calls. I sent in the required deposit and emailed a followup 4 times to Bob Takach (btakach@arborfence.co) to ask if they received my deposit and to request an installation date. I received not one return email. I also attempted several phone calls to clarify with the owner (whoever that is) the requirements of the township - those changes were not carried thru on the paperwork or installation.
