If something is in stock at Burbank, you can have it shipped to the store for free and avoid 90 miles of driving round trip from Thousand Oaks. If not in stock at IKEA Burbank, many items can be shipped to your house. The website says you need at least one furniture item (which includes cabinetry and other big items) to get it shipped to the TO store for free, but I'm not sure if that's strictly enforced. If all you want are some plates or towels, ask the employees. Small items delivery to your house is $5, large is $49 per IKEA, https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-service/services/delivery/ Shipping is reasonable for small items. If you have seen IKEA stuff on Amazon, it is being sold by third parties and is usually more expensive. See https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-service/knowledge/articles/6ggc1ddg-53df-4d0b-9bb2-f91e3c5dffe6.html If you know what you want, it is a big convenience. There were 3 employees there when I went in on a Sunday and one other customer. The TO store has many samples for things like cabinetry, but you won't find a showroom full of sofas or chairs. These guys need more customers. I'm the first reviewer on Yelp, and the guy I talked to there said he would take my suggestion and ask corporate to claim this business on Yelp. I heard her say some stupid stuff for a manager, just after the Covid scare, "where is everyone getting their money from", because a Mexican family was buying a lot decorations for a party!. On another occasion during the day & the lines were long", doesn't anyone work anymore!. Just yesterday I had a $45 order, all I had was a hundred on me, the cashier asked if I had something smaller, I did not, she called "V" over & she asked the same question, I said NO, sorry. She said I would end up with a bunch of $1's, I said no problem, she came back with like 50 $1's & some $5's - she told the cashier, the RULE is you have to use the $1's first. Well the cashier did not listen to her & gave me $5's. As I was walking out, I swear she went into a victory dance. (Not knowing I got $5's instead of $1's) I am contacting corporate - that was the final straw. Really "Rule", she sounded stupid, that's the RULE. Imagine a manger behaving that way.

We stopped by numerous times to sit in a few different chairs and to finally decide which one we wanted to purchase. It's being hand crafted in Japan as I write this! Both my husband and I fell in love with Japanese design and craftsmanship a few years ago on our first trip to Japan. Since then, we've been drawn to various Japanese shops and stores around LA. There are a couple great shops for housewares around southern California - but we never found a shop that carried Japanese made furniture. My husband happened upon Ookkuu's website while looking for lighting - and we were shocked to find that they carried a number of items by famous Japanese architects and industrial designers that we'd never imagined we'd find in the states. We're lucky to have this shop in South Pasadena - I don't think there's a shop like it elsewhere in the states. Their showroom is on the second floor of an office building, don't be fooled - they love walk-ins! The showroom is small - but they carry quite a few of the items from their website. It's amazing what they can fit in there. It's definitely worth a visit to see these pieces in person. They also have a few small items like glassware, incense, plates and paper lanterns. They get new pieces in pretty regularly - so it's nice to go back often. Can't say enough great things - we'll be back when we decide to make our next purchase!

It turned into an interesting way for them to know who I was before visiting, plus it let me preview all of the prices. It feels so wonderful to know that people who care so much about quality and functional design are actually within reach. ;)

Few weeks ago I had things on will call and they were supposed to open the shop at 7 AM that day I went in that morning a person showed up and refused to open the door for us and forced us to wait outside until after 8am when another coworker showed ! His excuse was because he said that he got the key, but he does not have authorization to let anybody inside! My customer was not happy because we had to show up late that day because of Ferguson associates! -this morning I go in and two people at the counter one is helping another customer and the other one not being attention saw me waiting never said a word until I ask the person if i can I get some help! I believe it was a store manager, her first word was the other guy helping the customer loading up the pipe and I said I understand! Meanwhile, she's standing there looking at me! At the end she was able to help me and I was on my way!!! that simple! Every time I come to this branch always an issue I don't know why the management change. It was getting much better!!! Dear Hubby has been super happy to learn of Mike's Clocks, especially. DH retired as a jeweler and watch enthusiast/dealer, and the love runs deep still. I was cleaning and found a unique acrylic-surround clock from the late 50s or early 60s that he'd forgotten about. He took it to Mike for cleaning and evaluation. In a couple days Mike called and said that cleaning and lubricating was all it needed. He gave tips for how to keep the movement safe (use it on a surge protector, as a power spike would likely fry the works). I fell into the rabbit hole of one of their crafty vendors who makes letter signs out of found metal objects. Creating a "J" out of a claw hook, topped with a bottle opener, fastened to a distressed piece of wooden board is an example of the craftiness. All of the pieces utilize things that might have been discarded as old, beat-up, possibly no longer useful. Their rag-tag appearance, when repurposed into new display pieces celebrates American manufacturing, back in its heyday. The hardware also reminds me of all the "pieces - parts" my grandfather used to collect in his garage. Nostalgia for days! We now own four of these small remnants of the past, but that may not be the end of it. The shop owners encourage diving into collecting the letters, by having displays spelling out "SPRING", "CELEBRATE", etc. Possibilities are endless! The various vendors do a wonderful job of freshening their spaces, keeping current with seasonal changes. Some of the accent furniture is repurposed, having undergone a milk paint treatment. Great prices, friendly staff. Keep a sharp eye out for treasures, lest another shopper snag one before you do!

I honestly really appreciate this over having someone came to our house, measuring everything and gave us a whole 4 hrs presentation, which actually stirred us away. He explained the whole process, again, in a very straightforward manner. The samples of the materials looked solid with so many color selections to choose from. We didn't feel pressured at all to sign anything on that day. But that's actually what made us feel sure to go with them. The price we got quoted also pretty reasonable for such a solid materials. Diego and Salvador did a great job updating our shower. They were really friendly and efficient. There are some minor imperfections though, which I am trying to communicate with the company.
