They told us to just order a new one because they can't send us home with insulin because their insulin is too concentrated. We told them it wouldn't come in until Monday or Tuesday and they said "it's not a big deal get it when you get it". We took her back saturday i believe and called trying to get insulin and they let my dog go from Friday til Monday without insulin knowing she had serious diabetes and neglected to tell us it would cause ketoacidosis. My dogs kidney was failing by Sunday and throwing up. Took her to a real animal hospital that isn't uneducated and they explained my dog was dying from multiple organ failure due to not getting her insulin. This hospital neglected to inform us that several days without insulin would potentially kill our pup. Neglected to offer for us to bring her in for insulin to be administered. Didn't explain the severity of the situation and made it seem like we could wait 4-5 days without insulin and our dog would be okay. Well my dog just died at 8pm and i didn't even get to say goodbye to her. This hospital will kill your dog do not bring them here. RIP MACY

My 9-year-old black lab, Cooper, had a dental procedure with Dr. Elizabeth two days ago and is…read morehealing beautifully- minimal swelling and no obvious pain. I was nervous about anesthesia but the procedure was essential for his health and comfort -- he had a fractured tooth and an infected gumline abscess. From the very first consultation, Dr. Elizabeth and her team were thorough, gentle, and patient, answering all of my questions without making the visit feel rushed. I left feeling informed, supported, and confident in my decision to proceed, and scheduled his procedure for the following week. The day of surgery I received timely updates, including when he was placed under anesthesia. Once asleep, they performed detailed X-rays and CT images to assess all teeth. Dr. Elizabeth personally called me from the operating room to discuss additional findings and procedures. It's simply impossible to fully evaluate a dog's mouth during the initial consultation while he is nervous and squirmy. Cooper ultimately required three extractions and a cleaning. I was notified when he was taken to recovery, and he was discharged after two hours of additional monitoring. I was given a comprehensive booklet with photographs, charts, postoperative medication instructions, and recommended products to maintain his dental health moving forward. That evening, Dr. Elizabeth personally called me to check on him. Lastly, I want to address the topic of cost, which I've seen mentioned in other reviews. This is not a standard veterinary office. While many clinics offer surface-level cleanings, Dr. Elizabeth's team provides comprehensive advanced dental medicine. A tooth that visually appears healthy on the outside can be unknowingly be diseased within -- and without advanced imaging, you simply cannot know. In my opinion, it is best to address everything once than potentially multiple future procedures, compiling additional repetitive cost. Our pets deserve the same standard of care we expect for ourselves. This level of medicine is an investment, and when you view your pet as a family member, the peace of mind is priceless.

The care was impeccable, professional, and at the same time warm and compassionate, explaining everything to us with patience and clarity. Max left calm, well cared for, and happy, and as an owner, that is priceless. You can see the experience, dedication, and heart in every detail. This isn't just a veterinary clinic; it's a place where your pet is treated like family. 100% recommended. If you want the very best for your Pet, this is the right place. Thank you for taking such great care of Max!

After two rounds of antibiotics and nearly $600 in treatment costs, the problem is still unresolved and Rex continues to have discomfort and odor. When I called today to discuss next steps and whether the office would be willing to work with us given the repeated visits for the same unresolved issue, Dr. Sobol immediately responded, "If you're asking for a discount, the answer is absolutely not." I understand veterinarians deserve to be paid for their services. However, after multiple unsuccessful treatments, I expected a more compassionate and collaborative response rather than an immediate dismissal centered around payment. My concern is not just the cost, but the lack of empathy and professionalism in handling an ongoing issue for a returning patient.

Over the years, we briefly tried other veterinarians due to rising costs, but nothing compares to the care, compassion, and dedication we experienced when we truly needed it most. One of our three beloved kitties, Katy Pury, was recently diagnosed with feline triaditis. We don't have children--our cats are our babies. When our previous vet said he would "look into options" and never followed up, we were devastated and scared. We knew we wanted to do everything possible for our girl and didn't want to live with regrets. That's when Jodi and Dr. B stepped in--and changed everything. From the very first conversation, we felt heard, supported, and hopeful. They offered a truly integrative approach using both Western and Eastern medicine, including acupuncture and herbal therapy. Katy Pury was treated immediately during our first visit, and we are already seeing encouraging signs of improvement with her follow-up care. Instead of being told to prepare for goodbye, we are now filled with hope that our girl will be with us longer because of the thoughtful, proactive treatment she is receiving. If you ever feel that your current vet isn't doing everything possible for your pet, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you seek a second opinion here. Extra Care Animal Hospital goes above and beyond--not just treating pets, but caring for families. Thank you, Jodi and Dr. B, for your compassion, expertise, and for giving us hope when we needed it most. You are truly helping save our baby, Katy Pury.

From the very beginning, the team at Extra Care was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate as they helped us understand and navigate our options. We ultimately decided to move forward with amputation. It was a frightening and unfamiliar journey, but one we knew we had to take for Chloe. Less than a week after her diagnosis, she underwent surgery and recovered quickly. Throughout that time, the hospital took wonderful care of her and helped us adjust to our new normal. Most importantly, Chloe was happy and no longer in pain, and for that we were truly grateful. She went on to live two more wonderful years. Although the cancer eventually returned, even after amputation and chemotherapy, we would not trade those two years for anything. We would make the same decision again without hesitation, especially now that we know how much love, support, and hope this process can bring. We are so thankful for Dr. T and her staff at Extra Care. They were there for us through every high and low, and they made an incredibly difficult experience feel a little less overwhelming. This is truly a special place that felt like home to us. Chloe was always happy to see Dr. T and her amazing staff, which says so much about the love and care they gave her. They are simply wonderful.
