The service was very smooth. 1) I dropped off the memory card at their I Street NW location. 2) I was notified of an estimate. Then I asked my friend if she would recommend her computer technician. She said yes enthusiastically and gave me the number for Technical Difficulties. Then he told me that if it's just the fan, I could try a laptop fan pad. Never heard of it! I bought one for under $30 and it solved the problem! What integrity!

A month ago I realized that I had made a very foolish mistake. One day I was accessing some files -- one minute the files were there and the next minute they were not readable. I panicked. I thought that the files were lost forever until I discovered that there were some companies out there that recover just this kind of lost data. https://www.yelp.com/biz/crb-computer-repair-brooklyn-brooklyn-2 -- recommended Technical Difficulties. I knew the cost could be very expensive, but I had to find out if it could be done and what they would charge. Avi at Technical Difficulties explained to me all the different possibilities before I agreed to send the flashdrive to a lab. I had a certain figure I had in mind that I would go up to because the journal entries were irreplaceable. After waiting a couple of weeks, I was told that most of the files could be recovered including the journal entries. I thought it was a miracle! The cost was not cheap, but reasonable. I was very happy with the service I received. I also very much appreciated how the process was communicated to me. There was never any pressure -- everything was left up to me. I highly recommend their service for data recovery. I was able to recover something that had a lot of sentimental value. Thank you so much Technical Difficulties!

I was desperate for a company to recovery my files, and I came across Data Recovery New Jersey. What set them apart from other companies is that they fix hard drives IN HOUSE, meaning they do not ship it out elsewhere to get fixed. I wanted to hand deliver my hard drive directly to the source, and I was able to do that. Larry was great to speak with, he's super knowledgeable and helped me understand the possible issues & how they'd go about repairing it. From speaking via email to meeting in person, he was very thorough and made me feel like my hard drive was in good hands. The repair took around 2 weeks (I wasn't in a rush to get it repaired, I told him it can be put on the back burner as long as it got done). I had him ship my recovered data back ($20 shipping fee, $70 for a new hard drive for him to put my recovered data on), and HALLELUJAH he recovered all my missing files!!!! I am forever grateful to this company, they legitimately brought back all my precious memories.

I truly hope I don't need his services again but I'd highly recommend Alex to anyone who needs data recovery. Edit: I have to mention that I noticed the very negative review on this page and was honestly skeptical but Alex communicated clearly the whole time and showed me the data file system that I created in the drive before I paid anything, which was very reassuring.

My gut told me that review was a bit off and so I went with my gut and trusted my precious memories to Alex and I have zero regrets. His prices are reasonable. Alex kept me in the loop the entire time and was quick to inform me of the progress he was making. I didn't have an extra drive to give him for backing up but that didn't slow anything down. Alex took care of getting me an extra drive and basically took care of everything like a pro. Within a day or so I had everything back and as good as new. But Alex didn't stop there! When I went to pick up the drive he asked me about how I'm backing things up and gave me a few pointers and even gave me some insight into why these newer physical drives keep failing (hint they are making them too small). As if that wasn't enough he told me would hold on to a backup of my files for a little bit to make sure I got everything backed up properly once I got home. And a few weeks later he actually followed up to make sure that everything was good and that I had properly backed up the files. I really don't know what more could be looking for beyond what Alex provides. I can assure you he's the real deal; that awful review on here is definitely fake, and your precious data will be in solid hands with Alex and the Data Recovery Experts.

I had a very disappointing experience with iFix NY Midtown regarding my ROG Ally X repair…read more Last Tuesday, they texted me saying they had diagnosed an issue with the left analog stick controller board assembly, which was affecting input and control response. They said the repair would include replacing the left analog stick controller board assembly to restore functionality. The quoted cost was $230 + tax, with an estimated turnaround time of 2-5 business days. After that, I had to call almost every day just to get updates. Then today, I received a different message saying they had received replacement parts, but not the full set. They said they could replace the damaged analog sticks themselves, but were still waiting for the round LED light rings around the sticks. They also said they could return the device with the controllers functional, but the left stick would have no LED light ring. That was concerning because the original diagnosis and quote were for the left analog stick controller board assembly, but the later message described replacing the analog sticks themselves and leaving the LED ring unfinished. For $230 + tax, I do not think a partial or incomplete repair is acceptable. When I went to pick up the device, I had already called and was told it was ready. But when I arrived, I still had to wait around 30 minutes while they reassembled it. That is not "ready for pickup." To be fair, the owner was there and was kind, apologetic, and professional. My issue was not with him. My issue was with the repair technician handling my device. His attitude was horrendous, and the interaction felt careless and unprofessional. The worst part is that after testing my ROG Ally X in-store, the left trigger felt worse than before, and the light around the stick was no longer working. I brought the device in for a specific repair, and I left feeling like it had been returned with new problems. As someone who runs a tech company and understands customer service, I was shocked by how poorly the repair side of this was handled. I had other products I was considering bringing to them, but after this experience, I will not be returning. A kind owner cannot make up for a disorganized, incomplete, and careless repair process.
