RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN! To say that their customer service is terrible would…read morebe to imply that they actually have any customer service. They are argumentative and threatening toward customers for no reason. They don't care if you have concerns and will start yelling at you if you bring a concern to their attention. I had to hang up on the owner, Koleen, as she was screaming at me and would not listen to anything I was saying. We also had the pleasure of being yelled at and threatened by the other owner, Peter, as well. There is not enough time to detail all of the terrible stress they put us under. But, to provide one example (of MANY), as part of the $16,000 job they did for us, they quoted us for all new soft-close hinges for our cabinet doors. One hour before the installation, Peter sent my husband a text saying that the hinges he ordered were not going to work and he would credit us for the cost. Meanwhile, no one told us to save the old hinges and the workers left them strewn all over the place. Peter told us that he probably could not get new hinges that would work with our cabinets and, even if he did, it was going to cost a fortune. What happened to their original estimate? They are supposed to be the experts. The installation could not happen as planned because we were initially unable to locate all of the original hinges. So, they left the refinished cabinet doors while we went on a hunt for the hinges. Somehow, we managed to locate all of them. In the meantime, Peter was texting us telling us we needed to pay the ~$2,000 balance on our invoice that day (even though the job WAS NOT DONE), or they were going to put a lien on our home. His wife then emailed the invoice to us with a note in all capital letters with the same threat. When we didn't respond to either of these threats, Peter then texted my husband ordering him to call him before the end of the day as he didn't want the situation to escalate. They are the ones that escalated the situation by making these threats. We have had many, many contractors at our home for various repairs and have never, ever been treated so horribly. In fact, we've never even had a minor issue with anyone that we have hired. We are extremely reasonable people. Although the job was eventually completed, there were several areas where we had noted the paint needed to be touched up. They clearly did not care about any of these issues and we just paid the invoice to never have to deal with them again. We were extremely tired of being yelled at and threatened. The whole experience was truly unreal! I fully expect Peter and/or Koleen to comment on this because they LOVE to fight with their customers. Again, run as far away as you can from this pathetic excuse of a company.

I have been in my home since 1974, and have had many painters come and go, pretty much know what to expect. They emailed me an extensive contract, which I signed...I even joked that I would send them a 5 page contract also... The kitchen ceiling is ok, however, not enough paint on the soffit...a clear line between the cut in and the soffit. Not good coverage at all. However the bathroom was done in 4 hrs./5hrs. or so...meaning none of the first coat had enough drying time...hence, the paint started blistering before the painter even left. Also my brand new pella window frame is a mess...it was smooth, and now it is a lumpy/bumpy mess... The painter took some pics of the problems before he left that day, and sent them to the owner. I waited for a call, it never came. So I figured they were not interested in re-doing the bathrm and cut their losses, and let it go for the $500 deposit. 3 weeks go by, no call, no email. crickets. The other day they called and did not leave a message. I also received an email that day, telling me I was past due on the balance owed. Now this is the really disturbing part...they said they had called numerous times to come out and fix the problem/NOT TRUE. They actually said I was lying about it. Then they said they would be sending it to collections/and put a lien on my house. I was appalled...It's in the contract they said...I am sure it is, they make sure they are covered for every possible event. Never have a skirted a bill etc. in my 75 yrs. And to threaten me on top of calling me a liar, well I have no words. I paid the balance, they forgave me $126, and the interest they said I owed...so, I would warn others here...not a company you would want to do business with. I ran my own successful business for 38 yrs...I know how it should go w/customers. To be treated this way, well it is shocking! BUYER BEWARE, if they treat old widows this way, well, u get the drift here.

I used Somerset painting for a few projects that desperately needed to be done. I had my front…read moreroom, hallway, and a side room all painted to rid myself of some ugly high gloss paint and foul colors. The project also included patching major holes where I had electrical work done to install recessed lighting. The quotation process went well; Eric showed up at my house within days to review the work and give recommendations for paint luster and trim work. I had really hated the trim and quarter round and thought I would have to replace all the trim in my home but he suggested painting it high gloss white which ended up being the right choice and saved me a huge headache. Within about 3 weeks the work begun. Chris was my painter and showed up right on time every morning which was excellent because I didn't have to worry about being late for work. He was professional and would call or text during the day with any questions that we didn't cover that morning. I felt comfortable working with him and communicating my concerns. He also tossed out garbage (including my kitchen garbage which I hadn't gotten around to) on garbage day which saved me the hassle and I appreciated. The quality of work was high; there was one small area right around an outlet which doesn't look great, but that was because I replaced a large switch plate with a smaller one which didn't cover previous damage. Obviously he couldn't predict that and I didn't think to point it out. I will probably sand it and touch it up with leftover paint. Overall I am very happy with the work; it made a huge difference in how the house looks. Everyone that I have over since that saw the before commented on how amazing it now looks. I will use them again for future painting needs.
