Did a great job breathing new life into an old tool box. Low price and good work. Powder coating the inside of a this tool box isn't an easy task. It opens up like a clam shell, there are lots of difficult corners and areas to reach. Turned out great, durable finish. It's almost too nice to even be used as a toolbox anymore . So sad - my bed frame is ruined. I dropped my metal bed frame off the end of October. I was told it would take 2 weeks to paint the head board, foot board, and the side rails. There was a center brass piece on the foot board that I wanted to keep - it's what made it special. Apparently, they didn't write that part down, though, so when I went to pick it up in December 2nd (yes, December), I found that they had painted over the brass and my side rails were missing. They said they could remove the paint from the brass in a few days. A few days later - I went by and picked up my side rails but the paint wasn't off the baseboard. I was sent a picture on the 14th - paint removed - but a few touch-ups to do. By the 18th of December, it was still not ready for pickup - and I had to go out of town :(. To note - the white paint on the headboard, side rails, and most of the base board is nice and shiny and looks great. I was told the powder coat will never come off, which is why my friend told me to get it on my bedframe. If it had a nice brass piece in the center - I'd be writing a happy review only complaining about how long it took and poor communication. I was finally able to pick it up today, the 26th of Dec, 2 full months after dropping it off - and yes they removed the white paint but somehow I have a brass painted highlight instead of a bass highlight on my foot board. Somehow, between the picture they sent me on Dec 14th and today - someone decided to paint what had taken 2 weeks to un-paint. There's nothing I can do about it now.. it's so awful. The best part of the frame was this nice pop of brass and now it's a muddled, fake sparkly, brass colored paint.. with a white paint smudge on it. If I want to keep sleeping on the floor - I can try to take it somewhere else, assuming that someone can do something with this but who knows? Like the review in 2015 - I thought it was great due to the convenient location and being a small business but 2 weeks turning into 8 weeks and the one part I wanted the most being destroyed... On top of that, not telling me what they did. Just to give it to me and tell me how to shine it up, like I wouldn't notice it's spray paint and not brass! I guess they figured I was stupid enough to pay them before I saw it when I went to pickup the first time, and didn't yell during the repeated calls, I must be too stupid to tell brass paint from real brass. Now I have to try to salvage it myself - deciding if I want to paint over the nonsense they tried to pass off to me with some other color or just paint it all white... So so so upset and sad. Something I thought was great is now mediocre and cost me $160. Don't go there if you need your items in any kind of timely manner and don't make it the least bit out of the ordinary or you'll get what I got. Being nice to them doesn't help, either. They didn't work faster or pay more attn, even though they did thank me for not yelling about the fiasco. read more

I could give negative stars I would. I dropped off 2 chairs and a glider on December 4 and was told it would be ready by the end of the year. on Jan 9 I was told that it was powder coated and waiting on paint. On Jan 19 I was told painter had been busy and was out sick for the rest of the week but it would be done the following week. After numerous calls with multiple lies I was told it had been finished but they were unhappy with paint and it would be repainted. The following I went in and to my dismay found it was never started and was just now being sandblasted. I was then promised it would be done over the weekend and then it wasn't done. The painter then said that they had just started it and was unaware of the lies that I had been told, and that my job wasn't important because it was so small.. I have since taken my stuff and went somewhere else. They all lie and act like they are doing you a favor while lying to your face. NEVER GO THERE UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID AND WANT TO WASTE TIM3 AND MONEY. read more

Took them bumpers and a grill from my 60 c10! They blew through my grill during media blasting then they had to redo every part due to poor handling scratches and what looked like orange peel on everything. Don't waste your time here. Procoat or Sharps customs are far superior read more

I wish I had something nice to say about these folks but I don't. Don't get me wrong, they do average work but they are shady on their pricing. I've used them numerous time over the years because of their convenient location (to me anyway) and viewing samples of their work. They are a small business and I much prefer to use local shops then corporate sweat shops, that being said at least corporate shops are consistent with heir pricing. American powder seems to pick and choose which prices to honor and which to not. Again, I get that they are a private business but you don't get repeat business or new business by screwing people over. Case in point - just had long tube headers, cats and x-pipe and other tubing coated for $350. I forgot to bring in two 12" sections that also needed coating. I brought the forgotten pieces in and anticipated a $40-50 fee on top of the $350 quoted for the other order but oh no...I was told it would be an additional $100 for those two pieces. Really?! For what?! They offered no explanation and didnt appear to understand the reason for my upset. They've done this to me in the past and I made the mistake of giving them the benefit of the doubt. Silly me. I expect to be rewarded for being a good customer not penalized. I want my pieces to match so I paid the extortion fee but I'll be taking future work across the Bay. If you opt to use these people please beware. They do not value or cultivate repeat clientele. If you're going to spend your money, make sure it's with a company who will value and appreciate you as a client. Piss off American Powdercoating! read more
