Where do I start?
I…read morepurchased a truck from Lenz Truck in Fond du Lac back in 2015 and had a very good experience. Because of that, I decided to return to Lenz Truck when I was ready to purchase another truck.
I found a truck I was interested in on their website and initially started working with the Fond du Lac location. I was then told the truck was located at the Minocqua Truck Center. The salesperson in Fond du Lac would not bring the truck down from Minocqua until a deal had been made, so I continued working directly with the Minocqua location.
After getting a price, I had my sister, who lives about 45 minutes away, stop and look at the truck for me. She said the truck appeared to be in good condition, so I decided to move forward with the purchase. I then made the five-hour trip to Minocqua. The salesperson was friendly, and everything seemed to be going well.
However, after completing the purchase and getting ready to leave, I was handed additional paperwork. Unfortunately, I did not take the time to thoroughly review it before leaving, which I should have done. When I got home and reviewed everything, I discovered that the truck had oversized tires, which causes the speedometer to be inaccurate. When I contacted the dealership about this, I was told that I would be responsible for having it corrected.
I also received the title and discovered that the name on it was incorrect. The title was supposed to be in my company's name, but the dealership told me I would have to get that corrected myself.
There were also a couple of other smaller issues that were not brought to my attention during the sale, as well as a few things I noticed after getting the truck home.
The truck itself has been good so far, but I am disappointed with the experience after the sale. For approximately two weeks following the purchase, I received numerous texts and emails asking me to leave a review. It gave me the impression that getting a positive review was more important than addressing the issues I had with the purchase.
My advice to anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership is to take your time and carefully inspect the vehicle and all paperwork before signing anything. Do not rely solely on what you are told verbally. Make sure everything is correct and that you understand exactly what you are purchasing before you leave the dealership.
I had a good experience with Lenz Truck in 2015, which is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. I like the truck, but I am disappointed with how some of the issues were handled after the sale.
