I was terrified and uneducated on the disease and had no idea what to expect. Dr Bindra was very patient and thorough. I decided to keep seeing Dr Bindra for regular treatment and I am so glad that I did. He and his staff take excellent care of me, make booking appointments easy, and I never have to wait when I visit his office. He is very kind and calm and answers all of my questions thoroughly. Do not go to Doctor Stokes if you struggle with mental health. I had told him twice that my chronic…read moredepression was an issue for me and that I didn't think the medication I was taking was helping because I noticed an steady increase in worsening symptoms. Eventually, I asked him if he could recommend a psychiatrist for me because I wanted to see a specialist. Doctor Stokes then proceeded to explain to me what a psychologist is vs a psychiatrist (something I already knew) and then sent me on my way with a recommendation for neither. Shortly after, I had an incident that almost hospitalized me and had to be enrolled in an Intensive Outpatient Program with Summa Mental Health. In trying to find out about a drug prescribed for me by one of the other counselors, I hit a brick wall. Twice I have had a prescription refused by my insurance provider. I have tried to resolve this asking if there is a different Rx the insurance might approve as I can't afford the large out of pocket expense. The counselor who prescribed these is either not in or will not return calls. The office staff person who said she would call back did not call and is not in, nor will the other staff member assist me. She said "I don't want to get involved." It's never a good sign when a mental health agency destroys your mental health with its poor behavior. In addition, the prescribing counselor also ordered a drug that we had just agreed I would stop taking. I had no way to stop the order or to reach the counselor. I had to pay for something I no longer can use. Benhaven Counseling is becoming increasingly useless.
