For fear of losing the expensive stone, I was without my engagement ring on my wedding day. Staff promised to "call right back" but never did. Emails went unanswered. I just wanted to wear my wedding ring and I wasn't getting anywhere with Howards, so I finally took the ring to another jeweller to get it fixed at MY OWN expense (and b/c I didn't trust Howards to do it properly). Howards apologized to me, but won't offer any compensation. I'm sure this doesn't happen in all cases at the the Newmarket store, but for me, once was one time too many!

One day an earring fell off because the backing wasn't secured (I usually put a rubber back in addition to the metal one provided). The earring got run over by a car which ruined the gorgeous matte finish and dented it. I contacted Matsu by email and they asked for a photo of the damage then told me to ship it to them so they could fix it or replace it. They kept me updated along the process and provided me a tracking number when the item was shipped. Their customer service was excellent. (We signed papers to legally be married and wanted to pay our debt first instead of purchasing rings). I was already just as happy without a ring and now that both of us paid our debt off and got back on our feet, he completely surprised me by wanting to shop for rings. I always had a vision of the ring I wanted and completely outgrown the halo - the jeweller showed me beautiful pieces that changed my mind.
