There are some people that outright adore Aldi, who are more than willing to go there every week to do their weekly shop.
I on the other hand dislike the chaos and generally untidiness of such shops. The lack of shelving, the idea that products are just stacked upon pallets on the floor... well it brings memories back of the vermin that made such places home, when I worked in warehouses.
The saving grace of Aldi is the low prices. Now I dislike the variety. Another reason why is happily go to the large stores like Carrefour. But when the sales papers show a real bargain, the hassle of going to Aldi is finally worth it. To say 70% on a bottle of alcohol, I'd go to war. Which you very near have to do. As the staff here ave being t boot camp on how to be grumpy & unhelpful. Even by Belgium standards!
