I have been to this location a few times and have to say that I'm likely to shop at Publix from now on for a number of reasons. I was drawn to this place due to the smaller business feel to it but have come to discover that is only for show. Naturally, with a smaller building you will end up with less of a selection than, say, Walmart or Publix. Which is understandable but not really an excuse for not having QUALITY items. What I seek in a smaller store is not necessarily variety but truly healthy foods that I might not find elsewhere. Otherwise, why would someone choose to go to a smaller location if they can get the same stuff and more in another location? That's what Trader Joe's does. Even though Trader Joe's is a smaller building, it ALWAYS has a healthy selection of foods for a diverse range of dietary needs. ALDI may have nice owners, from what I hear, but they must not be aware that the draw of a smaller market is to host exclusive content to make up for the lack of size. This location feels like it just got the excess of random foods from elsewhere that no one wants to eat. Even their "healthy" selection includes unhealthy ingredients and poses as being healthy or natural and a lot of it tastes terrible, so no one will buy it. You can have healthy foods that are delicious. And for what little truly healthy food they have it is super popular and so those items are usually sold out and with no extra stock in back. You should know what items are most popular and be stocking them EXTENSIVELY and at all times. You are missing sales by not doing so. I went there and three items that were very healthy and delicious were sold out each time. One time I went there and only one item that was healthy and delicious was left of an item and yet they have an overstock of gross tasting foods. Seriously. Get to know your customers better and stop trying to sell them the crap foods. Also, the lines at the registers need to be regulated better. There is only a few feet of space in each line before you are piled up and blocking foot traffic. And only one register was open when I was there. That is another thing. The one register had a very rude and uncaring younger man who was working there, sitting back and talking to people very bluntly and uncaringly. I asked him a question about where the bags were because his line was out of them and he stared at me levelly for a few seconds and shrugged and said "I dunno. They're, like, everywhere. Take your pick." And pointed at all of the other rows. As if refilling his row wasn't a big deal to do and me asking was the dumbest thing to do. It was really rude. Plus there was another worker that he could have called to the front but didn't because, as he claimed when he saw her walking back up, "Oh yeah, I forgot you were here." And laughed. Such professionalism. This was yesterday too, so it is whoever was working yesterday afternoon.
My suggestion to management is to have a manager there to regulate the registers better AND to watch the staff's attitudes better because they can easily come across as unprofessional, such as the case with this guy. Also, things try to stock the popular items more than the unpopular items if you know they will sell out quick. Gain a better understanding of what quality and actually healthy foods are and shelve those more. The oat milk is always sold out and you only seem to carry one kind, which is filled with sugar. All of your milks are filled with sugar, it seems. Or most of them. Please try to get unsweetened milks and other unsweetened options for things for those who do not consume a ton of sugar for dietary and health reasons. A lot of your "healthy" frozen meals are deep fried or filled with sugars and are high carb. There is a reason why foods that you carry that are not this way sell out fast. Please understand this! I really hope that the owners read this and work to getting to know their customers better. Until it improves, I will be shopping at Publix and would suggest others do too if they actually care about what they put in their bodies. Thank you. read more
