We were very pleased to find this laundromat. When you are traveling for more than a couple of…read moreweeks, washing is necessary! We were staying in the old historic part of Salamanca... and this was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. The place was clean, in very good repair and had new looking, good washing machines and dryers. The washing machines added soap automatically, so you don't have to bring anything other than your dirty clothes with you! They have 3 washers, two that were normal sized for 4 Euros per load and one larger machine that was 6 Euros. Washing time was about 30 minutes, and there were 4 choices of temperature combinations. There were two big dryers with three temperature settings (there might have been 4, I have already forgotten). You get 16 minutes of drying time for 2 Euros and if you needed more time, you could add one Euro for 8 more minutes. If you let the dryer stop, you have to put in the full 2 Euros for 16 minutes again. All in all one of the best laundromat experiences I've ever had!

This cool market in the middle of Salamanca offers everything from fish, fresh produce, home made…read moresausages, cheese, wine and olives. Although I couldn't buy much to take home with me because there are pretty strict laws about organic material going into the US, I enjoyed the sights and smells and even had a little wine and cheese snack. If you're in the area for awhile and plan on consuming some things (instead of taking them back home to other countries), I suggest walking around to see all the different offerings and prices. It was not too busy and people were not pushy at all. There are so many beautiful displays of foods like all the different cured meats and all the different kinds of olives and spices.
