As State Farm customers for more than 30 years--with auto, home, and umbrella policies--this was our first major claim. The service we received was extremely disappointing. Rather than acting like a "Good Neighbor," State Farm appeared focused on paying as little as possible. 1. Lack of VW authorized repair shops in the State Farm network State Farm has no VW-authorized body shops within 70 miles of our home. To preserve our vehicle's warranty, repairs had to be performed by a VW-authorized facility, meaning we were forced "out of network." From the beginning, State Farm adjusters worked to minimize payment at every step. In the end, they reimbursed only $7,309 of a $ 13,582 repair bill. 2. Refusal to pay for OEM parts Our VW-authorized shop uses only OEM parts. State Farm refused to cover OEM parts, even when non-OEM alternatives were not viable. This contradicts State Farm's own promise to ensure customer satisfaction regarding the use of OEM, recycled, or non-OEM parts. In our case, they did not uphold that commitment. 3. Dispute over labor rates based on undisclosed data State Farm refused to honor the repair shop's publicly posted labor rates for electrical and body work, claiming they were higher than other shops according to their data base. When asked, State Farm declined to share the comparison data used to make this determination. Only one other VW-authorized repair shop exists within a 70-mile radius, and it charges similar rates. Relying on undisclosed information to deny reasonable charges is unacceptable. 4. Failure to recognize required repair work Because State Farm could not provide a timely inspection, the shop had to remove certain parts to prepare an accurate estimate. They documented every step with videos, photos, and written notes. Despite this detailed evidence, State Farm adjusters claimed unnecessary work had been performed--an assertion clearly contradicted by the documentation. 5. Poor functionality and responsiveness of the State Farm claims portal Both we and the repair facility struggled with the State Farm claims portal. It was difficult to navigate, unresponsive to email messages, and hindered efficient communication throughout the process. 6. Lack of support from the local agent's office The staff at our local agent's office (Mike Potter in Boca Raton) were polite and friendly, but provided no meaningful advocacy. Their response was essentially, "There's nothing we can do." The primary value of a local office is direct support, yet they played no constructive role in resolving our concerns. Hence, they receive the same rating we give State Farm as a whole. 7. Refusal to consider third party estimates To help resolve the dispute, I proposed obtaining a third-party estimate. Both the local office and central claims representatives stated that while I could do so at my own expense, State Farm would not consider third-party estimates. This made any attempt at independent resolution pointless.

    An agent at Scott Collins office in Coral Springs, FL entered an incorrect address on my auto…read moreinsurnace policy on 8/10/23. The address they entered never belonged to me. Due to this mistake I never received my renewal information and my policy was terminated. I never received any letters about this and only found out through a letter I received in the mail from the Florida DMV saying my license was about to be suspended for not having insurance. I immediately contacted Scott Collins' office upon learning this and was called back that day by Ariel Fuentes. Ariel told me this was my fault for not paying the bill and he needed to write up a new policy to get my insurance back in place. He wrote up a new policy and stated on my application that I had not been in an accident in the past 3 years which was incorrect as I had been in a minor accident in 2021. Subsequently underwriting decided to terminate my policy effective 4/10/24 because of the false information Ariel provided but again I was never notified as Scott Collins' office still had failed to correct my address on file even after receiving multiple return to sender notifications. Their negligence caused me to be driving without auto insurance two times in a 6-month period and never once notified me that I had no coverage (no calls, no emails, no letter). I was quoted by a very nice lady at State Farm in Gainesville, FL just today who told me my new premium would now be 3 x per month more if I wanted a new policy due to my insurance being terminated. Had the agent not have entered an incorrect address for me on 8/10/23, my original policy wouldn't have been cancelled in the first place and a new application would never had been needed. I have yet to receive a call back from Scott Collins or Ariel Fuentes regarding this matter. If you are looking for a professional and responsible insurance agency, I would not recommend using Scott Collins' office.

My State Farm insurance quote was right within my budget and even lower than what I was expecting compared to the much higher prices of USAA and much better than the insurance companies that won't even write home insurance policies in Florida. After helping with my home insurance quote, Jordan helped me snag an approx. 1k discount on my annual insurance premium by transferring my auto insurance from Geico to State Farm. He even took the time to contact Geico to organize the transfer for me - all I had to do was review the details and sign-off!  This also resulted in a discounted auto insurance premium per month, so I greatly appreciate him taking the time to explain the perks of bundling and handling the transfer process. Lastly, I love that you can text him with questions and not have to worry about email or phone call turnaround time (although he's been quick with those timings as well!) The previous agent in Coconut Creek (I think the name was ( Espi or Espy) made such a big mistake on one of my vehicles. I had an older A8 which I sold so I asked to cancel it and instead of canceling the A8 they cancel my R8! I do not find out until 4 months later when I had to renew my R8. Anyway Jordan has been pretty good but my only issue is have sent a few email messages and I never get an email message back from Jordan. I always have to end up calling the office

    In September 2025, I received a disturbing letter from my insurance State Farm the Underwriting…read moreTeam that they were giving me 1 month to look for another Insurance Carrier as they were planning to drop us permanently on our auto Insurance that we had with them for many years. They explained that unfortunately my wife was involved in a terrible auto accident that almost killed her. Entering January 2025, we were heading home, and Vehicle # 2 ran through a red light at a speed of 90 miles per hour in a 45-mile zone, that destroyed my mini coop convertible. The car was destroyed, and air bags deployed were almost set off fire due to the impact. Prior to that in the year 2024, the month of February, a box truck went into my wifes lane and destroyed her left driver side on the mini coop she was driving. All 3 accidents were clearly not my wifes fault and State Farm who we had insurance with on all three accidents having my mini coop convertible, decided to drop us and said we were involved in too many accidents. Clearly it was not my wifes fault with these careless drivers that should not be driving on the road. It was soo disappointing trying to resolve this issue when State Farm knew and had Police reports, pictures, videos, cameras and I am certain they had their Investigation Team that it was not my wifes fault but still decided to drop us due to accidents that my wife did not cause. I also reached out to State Farm to explain to them that they had wrong information about her husband and tried to clear my wifes name on State Farm Policy. Atlantic Insurance Group is our Auto Insurance that opened there doors for my wife & I...Appreciate it...I highly recommend Emmanuel J. Acosta!!!! They had me as the husband involved in all three accidents in which that information, they had on the computer system was incorrect. By having this information wrong at their end, it did not allow me to shop around and go with Progressive or Gieco or Allstate due to State Farm not fixing this information on their computer system. In this letter that I received in the mail I had 60 days to resolve this issue and State Farm made it very difficult to clear up my wifes name and get rid of the wrong information they had about me. In trying to resolve this devasting issue because I needed insurance to go to work and try to survive in this rough economy, while struggling to find an affordable coverage for my Honda accord which was my auto vehicle because my wifes mini coop was destroyed due to the January 2025 accident, I spoke to a young man named Emmanuel J Acosta - 220 Agent / CSR representative where his office is located at 1750 N. University Drive, Suite 227 , Coral Springs, Florida. I explained the scenario I was facing with State Farm. He not only beat the quotes I received from other companies but also took the time to walk me through every detail of my policy. He was extremely patient and helped me understand the different coverage options, something my previous agent never did. The process was stress-free, and he treated me like a priority, not just a policy number. I highly recommend Emmanuel J. Acosta and this Agency for their outstanding service. What a difference a good independent agent makes! I have finally auto Insurance!!! It has been an excellent experience, and I'm very grateful for his expertise. He ensured I received top-notch coverage. Emmanuel made it his mission to get me the coverage I needed to be able to go to work. Again, none of the accidents mentioned above was my wifes fault and I am very, very, very disappointed on the way after 20 years of being with State Farm how they decided to drop my wife and I like a heartbeat.
