AH, as we call this grocery chain in Holland, is an old and established store which orients its…read moreselections towards the more discriminating consumer and home chef. Started by a man who foresaw the possibilities in having a set amount of grocery product ready to pick up, this chain has grown all over the world. This particular store, called the XL version, is larger than most AHs and has a corresponding larger aisles, a larger selection of specialty items, a larger selection of soda, wines and beers, and a larger selection of cheeses and breads. Of course AH carries its own branded items, from frozen to sauces to canned vegetables. If you like, you may skip the lines where you pack and unpack your own groceries (! Yeah, it is not like America where your groceries are bagged for you), by using the hand-held device with which you manually add each item. The fun part is coming on the weekend when they sell fresh "saucijzenbroodjes" or a croissant type of bread with seasoned sausage: a Dutch specialty! Parking is ample (XL version as well :0).
