This is a seasonal market that runs from 10am-2pm every Thursday; mid-May through mid-September. They had a great variety of vendors. The food vendor that caught my eye had lobster rolls. There were two or three stands for fresh produce. They also had a few craft vendors and vendors selling homemades like soaps and dog treats. Only 1 MLM company from what I noticed. They also had a few local organizations. I spent most of my time talking to the local 4H Office representatives. As a former 4-Her this was a really nice surprise! This is a great way to spend a Thursday afternoon in Newport News, plus parking is free! You can also enjoy the shops and restaurants throughout City Center! I'm addicted to local tomatoes so wanted to go check it out. Wow! What a surprise. There were so many vendors and we ended up spending a good amount of time enjoying the area. If I had a way to keep items cold I would have spent a fortune. The good news is I found my tomatoes and they were excellent. I made a tomato sandwich with some and a tomato with olive oil, salt and pepper and had it with a crusty sourdough bread for breakfast. Williamsburg for the farmer's market win!

The other reviews say cash only - but they did have a square card reader so you can pay with card. It's was $20 dollars for a bucket & pick your own strawberries. This patch was very spacious so even though there were quite a few other pickers, it felt like you were on your own. The strawberry photo cutouts were an adorable added bonus. Will definitely be back again & especially for pumpkins.

They update the fb almost every day on how the crop is looking, the berries are wonderfully sweet and very well maintained. There are little signs to poke your head through to make you look like a strawberry person- and the people who run is are small town honest people. I only had a credit card this one time, so they told me (and I saw them do this to multiple people too!) to just take the berries and come back eventually when I had cash. I know it's the honor system but it was so nice to be treated like a human vs customer. These are good people, good berries and good picking

The market is only open every other Friday from 4-7 PM, but it is absolutely worth making the trip during those limited hours! They have an amazing group of vendors selling items such as fresh produce, goat's milk soap, local honey, cheeses, herbs, flowers, baked goods, coffee, and SO MUCH MORE. I was thrilled with the wide variety of stops and didn't leave until I had checked out every vendor. I wound up buying lavender black tea from Green Leaf Pebble Tea Spa, a bunch of gorgeous flowers from Studio Posy, and a bunch of broccolini (I didn't catch this vendor's name ). I could have chosen something at every stop! Everyone I spoke to was highly knowledgeable about their products and very friendly. The market is located at Blair Middle School and there are two city lots there on Spotswood with plenty of parking.
