They served lunch which was burrito (choice of either southwestern chicken or vegetarian) and a few hours later a warm chocolate chip cookie. The staff also went around to show some animal collection, helped us locate the animals that were being pointed out by the captain, took our photos, answered questions, ensured our safety and even fished a chunk of ice near the glacier and let people touch and have photos with it. We saw many animals including whales, orcas, sea otters, sea lions, different birds including puffins, bald eagles, etc. We went close to glaciers. The captain was very knowledgeable. The 6-hour cruise was memorable! For the most part the waters were calm; there were certain areas that were rough. Even then, we were told that the water was calmest when we visited on that day in June. For some who have have motion sickness, bringing a medication can be helpful (though I think they also sell some on board) though we did not need any. Layering is still the key with an outer shell that is waterproof in case it rains. Though not necessary really, binoculars can enhance the experience. Would definitely recommend!

I woke up early to drive from Anchorage and it was so incredibly worth it. I was on a full tour - which was only 6 people - and the boat was great; enough space for all 6 people to either be inside or outside on the deck. We had exceptional weather (our guide even said the most rare thing we saw was the top of the mountain range) and it made for a great trip. We saw sea otters, mountain goats (from afar), harbor seals, bald eagles, jellyfish, and were able to follow a pod of orcas for an hour! Our guide was amazing - she was able to help us identify the pods and tell us their story - as well as she had great knowledge of the area, history and all the wildlife we saw. Please support this company - they were incredibly kind, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the natural area they were visiting.

He worked extremely hard to make sure we were catching and landing fish. Cole, the other first mate also did an incredible job. The captain also came on deck and was very passionate about putting us on fish and getting them in the boat. I have been on other fishing charters and I would highly recommend Outer Limits if you want to catch fish while having a blast.

Our large catch was already filleted by the time we reached port, and we opted to have J-Dock individually package our fish (salmon, halibut, and rockfish) for us to bring back home (they offer shipment as well, but we choose to bring ours back on the plane). Boat and equipment seemed well-maintained for our end-of-season trip. We would absolutely use J-Dock again on a future trip. Note that we were absolutely exhausted by the end, and had a 90-minute drive afterwards -- consider staying in Seward overnight after this trip.

Within minutes of lines going in the water, fish started coming out. The entire boat caught their "overs", and most of us caught our "unders" by 11AM. Manny moved the boat to new spots to find rockfish, salmon and smaller halibuts. The deckhand Bora was quick to help with the tackle, and cleaned the fish on our way back to shore. My wife was horribly seasick most of the day. Manny and Bora were quite helpful. Luckily, she still managed to pull in a few halibut. We'd highly recommend Puffin Charters!

Went on a Saltwater Safari Charter on Thursday Aug 5, 2021 and had a BLAST...! Captain Steve set…read moreus up on the halibut first thing in the am (after a 2 hr cruise out to the fishing area). The bite didn't start right away but slowly creeped up until the entire boat had their 2 halibut. No monsters but we were feeling good after hearing on the radio that some other boats were still looking for their first fish. Then we made a move to an area where the Rockfish were holding and we hit our limit after just a couple passes. Next stop was back towards Seward where we piled up to a well known spot based on all the boats around and OMG did we put those nets to work! Gotta give a HUGE shout out to Jeremy & Dalton- the best Mates we had all week. Those guys were always prepared with bait, a gaff or a net. This was our 3rd (& last) charter of the week, and as they say, saved the best for last. If you're considering a Charter, I'd call these guys first. The stamp instructed us to one boat and it was challenged by that capt...so we were basically turned away. Kobe made a call and clarified that someone must have stamped our receipt incorrectly. Fine, we will head out with this friendly chap. My brother was awfully seasick 95% of the time spent on the water...about 8.5 hrs. Kobe was determined to make it a great experience for everyone. Our first stop we pulled so many rock fish, we had to return some bcuz we met our limit. Second stop was a goldmine. Im so glad Capt Kobe was determined to find halibut. We found our limit! When we came in we had a massive haul, thx to Kobe. He was friendly, professional, and fun to get to know. We wish him and his family the very best!!
