When I first mentioned Kalesi to my boyfriend, his first reaction was "Game of thrones??". Well, there isn't much similarity of Daenerys journey and the caste other than the name. Going to Alanya, I think everyone should stop by Kalesi (alanya castle). It is one of the old and interesting things this touristy city has to offer. Placed on the hill is a spectacular wall and caste roaming over the city. If you are the sporty type you can walk up there, but the local bus or a rental car will also take you up there quickly. On the way up you can find posters with the history of the castle. It has a fascinating history and it worth reading. If you have a guide I recommend that since it might be easier to enjoy it while someone is telling you a little about the place instead off reading. For selfie lovers this is also a hot spot! No other place will you get better pictures of the city than at kalesi! read more

Actually there is more a hiking place than a museum. You're inside of a castle/wall and the view up there is spectacular. You can even climb on some walls if you are brave enough. The last time I went there, it was raining cats and dogs, but we captured wonderful picture of Alanya under the rain with a rainbow. I recommend (even in very hot summer day) you to wear sports shoes, because it is easier to walk on some stones. The place you walk is not always flat and even. Also bring your camera with you, if you love to take photos. If you go there by walking or by bus, then you are going back, maybe you should wanted to walk back to discover some places when you are walking. It's fun :) read more
