I get my basic bog-standard gents trim done here and am very happy with it…read more I'm more of a 'traditional barbers' person and never all that fussed about that 'salon feel', the first time I went I was worried that as a normal-looking ordinary bloke I would get laughed out of the place by a gaggle of perma-tanned platinum blondes, but in fact it's perfectly friendly and the occasional gents trim seems like bread & butter work to them. They'll book you in quite quickly if you're not bothered who cuts your hair for you- they appear to have some sort of grading system where the most experienced hairdressers cost more and the new or trainee ones are cheaper. I'll get my hair cut by whoever they like, the results are always fine. Depending on who you get, they may or may not have a chat with you, but never in that in-your-face taxi-driver style that I find really offputting at some other hairdressers- I want to get my hair cut, not have some kind of interview.. Thankfully at Hair & Beauty Works they're not too in-your-face (and neither is my hair a hohoho sorry). They're reasonably priced and they cut hair well.

All the staff & the owner are really welcoming and it is the most enjoyable hairdressers I have ever used. Very clean and tidy. You can't help but feel at ease as soon as you enter this light and airy salon. Nothing is too much trouble. Nice music in the background to while away the time. Really good products used on my hair......shampoo, conditioner, colour, serum and hair spray. Afterwards my hair smells delicious and is left nice and shiny. Whoever you book in with really listens to how you want your hair done and the cut is accomplished very professionally. Having my hair done is a wonderful relaxing experience and afterwards I always feel like a million dollars!! Following Covid19 the owner has installed lots of see through screens in between the salon chairs, also over the chairs at the sinks. The staff all wear masks and visors and the seats are thoroughly cleaned after use. The prices vary depending on what you are having done, but overall not bad. I fully recommend this salon.

Although fairly new they've built up a good regular client pool. I work just round the corner so I can pop there in my lunch break which is great! I have to say I've only ever had a quick 'you-can't-really go-wrong' fringe trim in there but the other customers always seem pleased with the results. As usual you can opt for different experience levels with according price schemes with various discounts seasonable available - current a student offer is available.
