yves brimbeuf is a man who takes his bread seriously. he even mills his own flour. he considers his…read morebaking an art and approaches it with a remarkable passion and intensity. this pays off. his bread has life in it. all of his bread is bio/organic and all made from the highest quality ingredients. this region of france is known as the pays des noix and yves' pain aux noix is one of the best i have tasted - creamy, chewy, complex, with the taste of levain present and tangy but not overwhelming sour as i find some can be. the nuts are perfect, they have a very subtle sweetness, they taste almost caramelized. He makes a sunflower, poppy seed, and flaxseed bread that is in the form of a heart - charming, and delicious as well.

The patisserie has nice choice of french cakes, tarts and pastries. There is also a wide choice of single origin pralines to choose from. We ended up buying a few pastries and they were really good. The chocolate eclair was to die for :-) Prices are reasonable here and staff friendly. Happily come here again.

The sandwiches are pre-made and they were pretty good. They had the usual variety of Jamon, salami, cheese, etc. I thought it was good not great. They also had tartines which are open faced sandwiches. We got a cheese, chicken, and mushroom tartine that was cold--essentially like eating cold pizza but good. They also have a wide variety of sweets here that all looked delicious although we did not buy. Even though I thought the savory food was just ok, this place is well air conditioned and was open when other places were closed! Definitely a cute place with nice staff. Also, i double checked the address and I do not believe the picture shown in the banner on Yelp is the correct photo of the place--I am attaching a photo of the outside that has glass windows/ doors and a gray overhang. Would still recommend going here to grab food before the river!
