I've frequented the shop in the old location by the post office and normally had a good experience. Today in the new location I wanted to stop in and spend money. 4:10p Tuesday. There were patrons outside smoking and the door was wide open. I proceeded inside and was quickly met by the owner Pete who yelled he's not open. I waved because as I stated I frequented the old location and wanted to at least say hi. As he walked towards me his tone got more aggressive and he yelled he's not open! I turned to leave and waved he then follows me outside yelling and cursing at me in front of the other patrons who are smoking and talking. It was extremely embarrassing. I've completely lost all respect for him as a business owner and a man. Even if it was just a bad day at no point did I provoke the type of treatment I received. He will not see me and I will recommend you second guess spending a dime with such an unprofessional person. What a disappointment! read more

I visited Alacranes Cigars and spoke with the owner Pete for a good while. He appeared to be very knowledgeable about cigars and informed me that he owns the plantations where the cigar tobacco is sourced and that his cigars are exclusively only sold at his shop. He also said unlike other cigar manufacturers, he properly ferments/ages his tobacco, doesn't use pesticides, and only sells to clients he meets in person. He sold me about 5 sticks for about $20, which I thought was a steal. As we spoke, I told him about the cigar brands I enjoy, and he said most of the big name brands are garbage (including the ones I mentioned) and that his are far superior. Keep in mind I've been smoking cigars for over 20 years and have tried all of the big name brands, including Cubans. Pete was definitely raising the bar for his cigars, and I was extremely excited to try them. Unfortunately, the cigars I had did not meet the mark for what I would consider great cigars. I don't doubt that he ages is tobacco and I didn't experience any burn issues which is good. However, the cigars were average at best. It's also worth mentioning he warned me most of his sticks were on the mild side. While I prefer fuller bodied sticks, I routinely smoke medium/mild cigars and know a good one when I smoke it. I think Pete is a great guy, and I would enjoy smoking a cigar with him, but I think he hyped up his cigars way too much and for that reason I felt compelled to write this review. Just know, the Alacranes cigars are not horrible by any means, and if you're looking for a cheap smoke, go for it. On the other hand, if you're looking for a cigar that will knock your socks off, these are not the ones, no matter how amazing Pete makes them out to be. Lastly, I really wanted to believe Pete when he told me how great his cigars were. I smoked them without any distractions and really focused on the flavor profiles. Again, these are average at best. Everyone's palates are different and maybe others will disagree, but I've smoked literally thousands of cigars and these just don't do it for me. That being said, I highly encourage others to try Alacrane's products and see for yourself. I just wanted to leave this review so others know my take on them for whatever that's worth. I do wish Pete the best of luck with his business and appreciate that he takes the time to converse with his customers and makes them feel welcome in his store. read more

Fantastic cigars. Local tobacconist. He only sells his cigars. No other brands/name brands. Be sure to call in 4-7 days prior to place an order. Phenwill have some cigars pre rolled but doesn't have a large or a variety. If you call ahead you can customize the cigar you want. Peter is very passionate in his profession. Not only did he sell us 25 cigars at a great price he threw in a couple of infused cigars and talked about his farm and the cigar business in general. Really knowledgeable guy and very friendly. Stopped back today and bought more including some figurados that we smoked later. Great smokes. Every cigar I've had is well made, burns great, tastes great and are super fresh. Was in town for 4th of July weekend and wanted to grab some sticks from a local shop. This was the closest one to where we were staying so, off we went. As soon as I walked in I was told that I couldn't walk past a certain point and that I couldn't walk back to the humidor. This caught me by surprise and I told my girlfriend we were leaving. A hidden Lake Worth gem is found at this cigar store that doubles as a private club which welcomes cigar smoking members. Leather sofas and arm chairs, a wide screen smart TV for utube videos, dominos, a members bottle cabinet, and of course, a walk in humidor combine with a relaxed atmosphere (once you've bought some cigars and settled in). The thing about this place that will keep you coming back is actually the cigars themselves. All the cigars here are made by the company that owns the store. They are expertly rolled in Miami from tobacco they grew at select farms. These are really fine, long smoking cigars. They are among the very best. Oddly all the cigars are priced the same, the big ones and the smaller ones, buy 4 or more to get in the graces of the shop owner. The price will be less than you would expect. We bought a cigar and owner told us we are fortunate because it's a private club but he is letting us sit and enjoy because it's the Lake Worth street painting festival. After 10 minutes his daughter turned off the music video of Queen in middle of song, and I politely asked her to wait till end of song. The owner told us to leave.
