The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools-such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine. Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Our luggage was immediately checked in and we were able to check in even arriving early around 11 am. Our particular room was ready and we checked and our luggage was promptly dropped off. We stayed in an oceanfront room which had a beautiful view with a seating area inside and on the balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked. I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

Food was surprisingly better than I expected. I stay at the Sunrise, which is the middle (Nizu more budget and Grand is the high end). It was perfect, there were plenty of activities for the little ones and nice shows for the adults. The restaurants consist of several all you can eat and several sit down restaurants. The nicer sit down restaurants, you'll want to reserve in advance and bring some nice cloths. I spent several mornings going to their gym, the coach is super friendly. I took some of their fitness class - kickboxing and physical fitness. The coach does their best to cater towards your physical fitness. I was lucky one morning to be the only person there, so I got a one on one experience, love it! I would definitely go back in the future. Short drive from the airport as well. You should download their app since it gives you all of their information and restaurants, reservations times, etc. Just watch out when you check in and check out, there's some sales folks who will try to hustle you. Just say no thank you. Spend time at the place first, and unless you know you're coming back for sure, just say no thank you.

I'm usually more inclined towards an adventurous vacation but there is a time and place for everything. Moon Palace certainly has everything! This resort is only about 10 minutes from the Cancun airport (CUN) and is actually compromised of three properties in one - Nizuc, Sunrise, and The Grand, each with increasing level of "fanciness." You can travel between all three on foot or by golf cart and take advantage of the amenities at each, except The Grand which is wristband access only. Each property has all of the things - swim up bars, restaurants, beach access, lobby bars, night bars and clubs, grab and go food, and more. My friends and I upgraded our standard room to an ocean view room right near the golf cart stop and it was worth it. Getting around the property does take a little coordination and it was nice to have the golf cart stop nearby. The room itself was spacious with a well stocked fridge and hard liquor dispensers but does have a large bath tub in the center of the room which took up a lot of space. I'm not sure who is using these. We got room service almost daily for breakfast and a late night snack and it came quickly and was fairly good quality. The staff were all excellent so definitely do not forget to tip! They of course are gracious for anything that you are willing to offer - pesos and US dollars included. Please, please tip as they all work really hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I will say that the check in process was a little confusing. When you walk into the lobby at Nizuc, there are several large desks immediately to the left that look like the check in but these are actually the check OUT. Check in desk is actually down a couple of hallways and not well marked. I had to get a bellboy escort me. We also had some issues with our wristbands. Since my party arrived at different times, some of our wristbands got deactivated when the rest of the party arrived. Luckily we were able to help one another out getting into the room and finally got it resolved at the desk. My only real reservation about this resort was the number of young teenagers. Admittedly, we visited during spring break but teenagers they were everywhere! Drinking age is 18 in Mexico but many of them looked like they could be 14 years old drinking at the bars and going to the clubs. Many of them were quite rude too yelling at the poor waitstaff for more drinks, not tipping and not saying thank you.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

Great breakfast and lunch buffets. I wish the food was a little better at the restaurants but it got the job done. No reservations needed unlike some of the other all-inclusive hotels. Excellent service the entire stay. Great beach access. Get out to the pool/beach early if you want to reserve a chair for the day. If not, people leave around lunch time and you can snag their chair. Located in the hotel zone of Cancun so it only took maybe 15 minutes to get there from the airport. Gated resort with an attendant. We never felt unsafe and even ventured off of the property to check out the shops across the street. I would highly recommend this resort!

Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

Hard Rock Cancun feels more like a faded backstage pass. *AMBIANCE* The hotel is noticeably dated--worn furniture, tired decor, and not well kept. In some guest hallways and rooms, you are hit with a strong MILDEW / MOLD smell the second you walk in, which was an instant red flag and made it hard to appreciate anything else. We had to switch rooms after the first night from the smell which gave me a headache. We also noticed condensation leaking from the AC, broken furniture, cracks in the walls, etc. Now the best part was probably the beautiful beachfront location, large pool facility and getting to see the oceanfront view. *FOOD* If you want to eat dinner at the themed restaurants (Hibachi, Italian, Steakhouse, Seafood), you have to reserve a time slot on their app. The app was quite glitchy. The food had its moments, but overall, it felt like the chefs were playing a game of culinary roulette. Some dishes were good enough to make me hopeful, while others made me question every life choice that led me to that buffet tray. I would say the best spot was the pizzeria, it was fresh, though pies were gone in seconds once they came out from the oven. *SERVICE* Upon instantly checking in, you feel like you are herded like cattle by being passed onto their concierge that tries to sneak in a timeshare presentation. That said, service at this hotel felt more reactive than proactive. Overall, for a 5-star hotel, it certainly felt a lot lower than that. If you're looking for a clean stay with 5-star service, I'd probably look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in retraining staff to restore the level of service this property was once known for.

They have several options of the usual themed restaurants. Casa Madra is the Mexican one and probably the least interesting, there were was an odd lack of salt on the chips and food :-) The Japanese combo restaurant (sushi and hibachi) appears confusing to customers and staff :-) Much of the sushi related menu appears to have an additional cost. I was told that the California Roll roll was extra, but the sashimi platter had a roll? The Diakon Maki was great. No chopsticks available for some reason close to closing? Hibachi was okay but I was missing the "yum yum sauce" :-) The unique beach side Delphina restaurant is probably the best and have some good dishes. Had a great red snapper catch of the day at the Hana restaurant. Two restaurants double for buffet style breakfast serving. The one at the Mexican restaurant is open to the outdoors, but they have hawk trainers to keep the birds away :-) The Champions sport bar is out by the main entrance door to the left. Open 12m to 12am. Damien is great. Pro tip: get a latte from the main lobby and top off with Bailey from the sports bar before the lobby bar opens at 4pm : Janssen has some cool tricks and drinks at the lobby bar :-) Very clean, staff of all levels picking up things everywhere. There is turn down service here, which I wasn't expecting. Large number families with kids, which didn't brother us. Count on a destination wedding party over a weekend stay :-) Coming here between the two US holidays (Thanksgiving & Xmas) there is a dip of occupancy to around 50% it appears.
