My daughter, wife and I visited Hasir on a cold, damp Wednesday night in Berlin. A short walk from…read morethe Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station, one can easily find the place tucked in a courtyard off the main street. We were warmly greeted at the door and promptly shown to our table in the nicely decorated and inviting dining room. I'd say about half the tables were full this time of the night around 7pm. After introducing himself, our waiter quickly determined that our command of the German language was severely limited and switched to English. For drinks, I choose a Turkish beer, Efes, from a rather short list of beer choices (at least for Berlin standards), my wife went with a glass of Turkish red wine from a much more extensive list of wines and my daughter picked her usual soda. To start, we ordered hummus as we always do at a Turkish restaurant but found we had a choice of the standard version or one with bits of meat and other stuff in it. We choose the upgraded version as it was something different. Along with the hummus, we got a huge hunk of bread that was blown up like a balloon and very tasty. They also provided some small dishes of yogurt, cheese, tomatoes and butter along with the bread. While the hummus was good, I would probably go back to the tried and true version on a future visit. It was tasty and we enjoyed it but perhaps a bit too much for us. For our entrees, my daughter went with the bursa kebap with a yummy yogurt dollop that she thoroughly enjoyed. My wife choose a different kebap (sorry don't remember the name but check the picture) that was wrapped in a tortilla like shell and served with two kinds of yogurt that she loved. I went with my usual Adana kebap that was served with rice, fries and a small cuban salad. I could have done without the fries but they were fine. The kebap though was very well prepared and to my liking. I wished I had had saved some of the bread earlier to go with it but I instead stole some yogurt from the ladies' plates to spice it up a bit more. The grilled vegetables were a welcome treat as was the rice. The coban salad had a slightly sweet dressing to it that I found yummy but at this point I was running out of room and couldn't finish it. I would have preferred to have ben served the salad in advance of my main meal but that's not how they roll here. Service here was first rate. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and helpful in suggesting items from the menu as well as describing them. The menu did have subtitles in English that made selecting even easier for us. There was a large group seated behind us (perhaps an engagement party?) that was at times loud but never bothersome and they added energy to the dining room. There looks to be a nice courtyard outside the main dining room but the weather this night was not condusive to outdoor dining. We would come back here in a heartbeat on a future visit to Berlin. The service was excellent, the prices reasonable and the food delicious.

This restaurant is not so big, it's next to the train track, it isn't so difficult to find. The…read morerestaurant itself is very simple, I find the little mini world they build as decoration inside is quite interesting. The food was alright for my taste. I ordered a noodle soup with beef. It could tasted better. But it's really worth it with the price I paid. The menu 1 tasted good, as I heard. Maybe I will give it a try later. At the lunch time, the restaurant is usually really full. If you want to come and have a try, then try to avoid to come here at lunch break. But even so, they also offer seats outside the restaurant or simply just wait patiently, it usually won't take that long.

Food always comes quickly, and it's fresh and tasty. I don't like cilantro so they leave it off when I ask, which is nice. I always order a lime juice to drink, and unlike other places where it's too sour, this one has the right amount of sugar (though the fellow thinks it's too sweet, but Germans tend to feel that way about a lot of things). All together, the meal usually comes to around €7.50. When the weather's warmer, they open up the front windows/doors for a nice cross-breeze, and the people watching is always interesting.

In a word - good food from self made ingredients, with a lot more option than just a burger…read more Longer version (for the brave) - we got the munchies so we had to grab something, and this burger was just around the corner. This place is not really a restaurant, but a food stall with some outside benches outside.. Luckily when we came over there was no line so didn't wait for too long for our burgers. I've ordered chili burger with extra cheddar on top, my friend told me their hot sauce is really good but unfortunately they didn't have it so he was grilling some fresh spicy habaneros to top my dish instead. The beef was also tasting really good and was well grilled, along with the bun and the veggies. We also shared a portion of fries - some people don't like them, but I loved them! They're kinda small and curling up but taste fresh and salted in the right amount. Downside - a large portion costs 3.50, so you better share it, it's too much. Another great thing about this place is the sauces - it all tastes great, the ketchup is more like a tomato salsa which was simply amazing, we tried two others and they also tasted really good, not even sure what they were - he just put them on our plate :) It was hard rolling myself back to the train, I was kinda stuffed :)

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I think it could look a little cleaner. Still, when I want a burger, I always come here! Tip: try the "burger of the week" - they always have some interesting combinations.

As you walk down any street, kebab shops and many other permutations scream at you. We decided to go to Hasir as a good friend from Turkey recommended it. It is an institution and a restaurant empire in the city. The location we went to is on a very busy street, and due to the temperature, we decided to brave it and sit on the sidewalk. It did not disappoint. Their menu is very large, but anything will be good. We ordered to start the tasty Cac⁄k, which is a dip of yogurt, Garlic Cucumber and oil and the ÛmamBay which is eggplant in paprika. Wow! For the main course, we ordered Adana Kebap, which is minced Meat on the skewer with Rice and Salad. Incredible. The Turkish bread was a must, and they kept it coming. The service was fast and attentive, and the whole experience was fun and felt authentic. I highly recommend this or any of their other locations.
