After a warm and nice welcome from the owner we were seated in the beautiful garden. A friend of mine recommended some plates that he had tired before. The staff also presented some of the to day specials, I took a nice pice of Tenderloin with a large bite of foie gras on top, and it was very large and very good. To start I hade a crabbfish tartar, witch was magic tasting! For dessert I hade the Pie with icecream, very good! We drank there good tasting sangria trough the hole dinner. The staff is nice and fast. Sometimes a bit to fast, the tend to run when they are at the back of the restaurant.

Avoid this place I visited this restaurant yesterday…read more(Thursday) with a friend and we were apparently the first customers of the day. The waiter recommended the local fish, so we both ordered it. Big mistake. When the plate arrived, the fish literally had white eyes -- it looked completely off, like it had been dead for a while. I even joked that the fish was blind. Should have trusted my instincts and sent it back. That night, both of us got seriously food poisoned. Vomiting, sickness, the whole miserable experience. Nothing else on the table was memorable, and the fish was clearly the culprit. Do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Freshness seems questionable, and the recommendation from the waiter was reckless. Stay away, especially if you're ordering seafood

Kucuruchos is a nice, fast-service, cafe-style restaurant near the central market in Alicante. We…read morestumbled upon here after visiting the market on our way to the beautiful beach. I liked that this cute restaurant was unpretentious and had a nice "menu del dia" lunch offer which was displayed on a chalk board outside. We were greeted warmly by the staff and chef whose creations were displayed in a case and within view. I liked that I could see what was offered/I was ordering. We learned that Kucuruchos was only open about two months at the time we dined there. Everything was clean and nice. My hubby enjoyed that there were hightop tables to sit at. There were a variety of options for the meat and non-meat eater. I settled upon a fish stuffed pepper item for my main course and some medley of beans for my first course. Bread accompanies the meal and it was enjoyable. The owner thoughtfully brought us an amuse bouche of sorts, a typical seafood of the area which was quite interesting (Nick had inquired about it prior). I liked the flavors of the dishes I tried and the portion size was hearty. There are bottled drinks and beer and wine available which are not included in the "menu del dia" which is fine but just varies from the norm we found with "menu del dia" offers elsewhere in Spain. If I could change one thing I would say that the dishes I sampled were a tad salty, but that is coming from me, someone who doesn't use or prefer a lot of salt. We were offered dessert and we were so full we took it to go. The desserts were a nice treat during our time at the beach. I really enjoyed my experience at Kucuruchos and hope that you will too!

Very seriously: IF YOU ARE IN ALICANTE, Make SURE YOU EAT HERE!!!!…read more This is one of the places in the world where every simple aspect of what makes a restaurant work is perfectly taken care of, and is well assembled with the others. 1. Space 2. Service 3. Food 4. City 1. SPACE. 5 stars Nou Manolin is located in a beautiful and lively part of Alicante's historical center. On the ground floor, a large (and yet intimate) square bar occupies the entire floor. This is a bar where customers sit on a first come first served dynamic. Here you can informally eat out of tapas, that are served in a gracious and fun way. It is totally unpretentious, and totally sophisticated. This hall could not be more beautiful. No one single testaurant-Indra cliche to be found here. All pure eclecticism that reveals the long term existence of the establishment. So beautiful! The upper floor is more of a table serviced restaurant, beautifully decorated in a Mediterranean-design style, and with great care for impecable acoustics. The ceiling is made of a series of John Soane-like wooden domes, made to reduce sound reflection. Such a nice way to focus on the invisible part of design, so important to make a place the right place for a memorable dinner or lunch. 2. SERVICE. 5 stars This place másters a unique combination of professionalism and know-how with warmness and lack of pompousness. The result is truly nice. You truly feel welcomed here. And feels like being in the center of the world. . At the same time you feel the enthusiasm for food and wine. No way to resist. With this service: You will automatically become a believer in the power of Alicante's gastronomy . 3. FOOD. 5 stars. Now we get serious. The best tapas!!! The marinera is the best. Amazing fresh seafood. The bacalao buñuelos are a gastronomic chapter on its own. But above all that: do not miss the fideuá. This is the best fideuás I ever had. The fideo is soft and crispy. The flavors are intense and with a bit of a good-olive-oil- bitterness. The food here is indescribable. Just come to taste it. 4. CITY. 5 stars. Something needs to be said about this city Alicante that has beautifully managed to show how to be coastal and urban in a beautiful and meaningful way. But please, keep it secret; we don't want this to become a tourist mess like Barcelona. Ultimately, just come here.
