To suggest that this place has a low rating must imply that I must consider seeing a doctor after dining here, or you have a personal vendetta against an employee or the entire staff. If neither apply, you must give this place at least 3 stars. Sure, this place may not seem as fancy as other establishments, but it deserves reputable marks. It is reminiscent of many other eateries I have been to that leave me feeling quite content after my meal and experience. This place definitely was consistent towards that. It is crowded-looking when you first walk inside. Fortunately, they have plenty of seating on the other end. In no way does this place look empty though. I can imagine how busy this place gets on other nights. I notice more dishes on the menu lean towards Italian. They had so many kinds of risotto. Unfortunately, their wine selection, although delicious, was lacking. But I can attribute that to my own venturing as this place wouldn't necessarily be the headquarters for wine enthusiasts. One of my friends said that AIrstream is a highlight place in Glen Waverley. So, my hopes were kinda up going here. I had a sweet tooth and decided to order dessert. Who can mess that up? Boy, was I surprised. The cake I ordered left me so disinterested. Sure it's packed, but I didn't see the big deal with Airstream. Service was not the best, we asked the waitress numerous times for a jug of water, and half an hour later, nothing. I tried the Tim Tam cake, the Oreo cake, and another one I can't remember the name of. The cakes were dry and tasted un-fresh, as if they'd been sitting in that window all week. Because I came here and ate desserts, I really cannot say anything about their food. But it was loud, there was poor service, and bad desserts. I've been to Airstream a few times over the last few years. Usually before or after seeing a movie, or for social events organised by people I've worked with. It's an interesting place, with a very lively atmosphere, which is why I think people go there. It's not bad for a drink or a coffee, but there are a few things that I don't like about the place. It's very noisy sometimes. Like, I wouldn't consider going again without taking an ear horn with me. The service is fairly so-so. You might be waiting a long time before you can get a waiter's attention. Occasionally, you'll be directed to a table with little more than a grunt and a nod. The food isn't that fantastic either, despite the rather high prices. I mean, $7 for a serve of garlic bread? That said, it's a fairly popular place. I'm not exactly crazy about this place, I tend to take the 'I guess it'll do' approach when I come here. This cafe is located near the cinemas in Glen Waverley and is clearly a hot spot for locals. I have eaten here before and the food was good, but my most recent visit was just for drinks. There is a large cocktail menu, wine list is ok and service is pretty good. When they get busy (and I'm almost certain they're always busy) the waiters almost seem a bit flustered and that friendly service takes a dive. Located inside of century city walk, this is a very popular place for locals. It's a café/restaurant has an expansive menu at a reasonable price. This restaurant seems to do exceptionally well, as most nights appear busy even with their large seating area. The food here is quite standard and average, its nothing special, but its good enough and does the trick. It's more of a hangout and catch-up type of place. There are always large tables of groups celebrating some event or another. When you enter, there is a lounge type area with couches for those just wanting a drink. The front desk is next to a display cabinet of cakes (good variety and tasty), the main dining area extends long ways down the room with an outdoor seating area to the left. This is somewhere I would go to get out of the house and around people, its not really a quality type of place-just more casual lets grab something to eat in a relatively okay looking place. I would say the prices could be cheaper, but they are acceptable where they stand currently. There is a large projection screen at the back wall that is constantly playing mtv video clips. If you were seeking an intimate and peaceful dinner, I wouldn't go here (its really noisy)- but if you just want to be out and about with people, in a no frills sort of way this is a good bet. Food was okay but they marked my discount as used and didn't give me the discount. Place is garbage, never coming again. The manager removed the discount and the staff are saying that if I can't show them the discount THAT THE MANAGER REMOVED I can't redeem the discount. I have been here a few times with my most recent being the last time I'll be going. The atmosphere is terrible and not conducive to even basic conversation, the service staff are few and far between. When you do get someone they are often abrasive and more often than not look totally disinterested. The food does not make up for any of these shortfalls. Ambiance - big place with some cool retro seating in the front. Gets loud pretty easily unfortunately though and didn't keep up theme all the way through restaurant. Food - Average taste and portions. We all had stomach aches shortly after we left so I'm not sure I'd go back. Service - First older gentleman that sat us and brought order out was nice. Person who took our order was super rushed and looked frazzled(perhaps not enough staff) and the person who we paid our bill too was average. You order tap water but no one tells you to get it yourself. Everything else is brought to table other than payment. Value - Neutral. A bit overpriced for what you get considering the amount of competing options around. Recommend for - large groups going to movies would probably suit best. Additional- Went to try this place on good Friday because had an entertainment book voucher. Have used these vouchers on public holidays every year at new place and even though voucher says in bold capital letters valid anytime the venue reserves the right to not accept. In 3 years I've never actually had a place do that but this place did (they even had the book ready with the small print highlighted). I think other places don't do that because people use vouchers to check out new places and there's a public holiday surcharge added so it's pointless to leave a bad taste with prospective future customer over small gains today but nonetheless that's their prerogative. We booked the Function Room at Airstream for a 70th birthday lunch. Once the menu was chosen, Vladimir, the function manager took over and did a fantastic job with the setting, the meals and drinks.
