This gas station is only about a mile from the airport so if you have to fill up your rental car, this is the place to go. I don't buy a lot of gas since I don't own a car in real life, but I did notice gas here is much more expensive than in other parts of the city but I'm okay paying extra for the convenience. If there's a lot of traffic, it can be challenging to get out of the station and back onto JFK Blvd but otherwise, this is a convenient and effective gas station. read more

Airport Shell - Closest gas to rental car return - Gas Stations Near Me - Houston, Texas

Here's another situation of the last chance gas station. If you are renting a car, and you forget to get gas from wherever you stared, you will inevitably end up here. These are the gas stations that know they are the last catch, and they are busy. Seriously, as much as I complain, I'm glad they are here, to save the day, to save some money, it's worth it. I'm not a fan of the fact that they are the only ones here, I am however here, to mention that because they have saved me from having to deal with rental fees, I'm going out on a limb, and saying I'm a fan.. of them staying exactly where they are. read more

I would expect for a lot of the reviews to be a little negative since most stations located near airports and rental car centers are a little more expensive than those in the surrounding area. But truth be told this is a really nice station with great service they even have a full service lane for those of you that can remember this type of perk. This station also has a full service center with a mechanic on staff it looked quite busy so I assume theses aren't rental cars so the locals must have some confidence in their ability. This most likely will be my last stop from now on prior to turning my car back in especially if it's raining I will use the full service bay and stay dry. read more

Take a left on Greens to the Shell on the other side of JFK and save yourself 90c a gallon. Disgusting to take advantage of tourist like that read more

The prices are high! But if you need a full service station they have it on the pump side closest to and facing the building for an .80¢ a gallon premium. The workers are nice and they have a restroom you will need to ask for the key. This place is super busy, fill your rental before you get here..lol read more

Drove by this station and so glad I didn't pump here... it was a full dollar less per gallon right across the street! Price gauging at its finest. Just do the u-turn and pump across the road or ANYWHERE else in Houston. read more

Very crowded and an extremely small place for such a busy area but they do the best they can. Gas prices are always expensive here because they understand they have a captive audience of people returning rental cars on a regular basis. I noticed that they were a few disabled people who are pulling up for full-service a activity and they appear to be people on hand to assist them so that's a good thing. This is neither a place that one recommends or doesn't recommend it's a place where one goes out of complete necessity before returning the car to the car rental company read more

Avoid - most expensive gas in Houston!! It is the last station before the rental Car return. What a great taste to leave our visitors with!! read more

I stopped here to get gas for a rental car. As I got out I was approached by a man who worked there claiming that at "this pump" he had to pump my gas. I had just watched another coworker of mine pump his own gas across the isle, so my face and body language was confused by the workers request, but I compiled. I was then told that I was "racist" for how I treat minority men, and that "all white women" need to change their behavior. His tone was so aggressive that two of my coworkers hopped out of the car, causing him to say that the other "white woman" was racist too while my white male coworker was "fine". When she asked if there was a manager inside he insisted he was the manager and that he owned the place. Avoid this gas station at all costs. read more

Conveniently located close to the airport, it does have higher prices since it's is one of the final options before returning your car to the rent a car center. You could do better just a couple of miles away. Probably a 20-30 cent premium vs the others. If you just need a few gallons, it's worth the convenience. However if you need to fill an SUV all the way up with 20 gallons, you are looking at $5 bucks more expensive. read more

I would put minus 10 stars if I could. Went there to fill my rental car for return and a guy asked me to stay in my car after I removed the nozzle to pump, and he said that this is full service, nothing else had been said by him. I was shocked to see that the price was 4.099 per gallon instead of 3.29 they have advertised. When i asked, he said this is because i chose full service, and he didn't allow me to stop the pump. Very rude and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. RIP OFF, read more

UPDATE: The actual owner of this Shell station called me personally and apologized for this incident. He was shocked to hear what had happened. It is good to know that the entire station does not act the same way as the man I encountered (see below) and I would like to say that I know feel differently about this location. If the rest of the employees are as kind and helpful as the owner, then I would recommended stopping in. PREVIOUS POST: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This afternoon we stopped at this gas station to get gas and were approached by a worker claiming he was the manager. He said he had to pump our gas, which none of us had ever seen before so we were thrown off, but complied and even offered to do it ourselves. At that comment the man got very aggressive and started harassing the driver. For no reason at all he started with "all of you white women need to stop walking around like you're gods. You can't treat us black men like this." The driver said, "I'm sorry sir if I offended you by offering to pump my own gas, but I was confused because I had never been to a gas station where they pump your gas for you." But he did not stop. It got to the point where we all had to get out of the car to ask him to stop because it was inappropriate and unnecessary. It came out of nowhere. No one was being rude and no one was being racist. He then went off on me and how I was a "privileged white female who looked down on people like him and needed to adjust the way I thought of others." This man doesn't know me, my financial background, or anything about my life. I walked out of the car to ask him to stop because it was inappropriate and got harassed. Not only am I appalled but I am mostly upset. No one asked for this, we were just stopping to get gas and he came over and started on us. I was not raised to be a racist of any kind. The man didn't even look me in the eyes before accusing me of being "privileged" and a racist. It was saddening to me and also very offensive. I don't recommend going to this gas station. There is a Texaco across the street that I will be sure to stop at the next time I am in town. read more

The worst experience ever! I was harassed by a gentleman who claimed he worked there. Luckily I Was in a rush to pick up my friend from work, was so close to calling the police. Still don't understand why he's still working there with all the other complaints. read more

It's a serviceable gas station to be sure. And if you've forgotten to fill up the rental before returning it, by all means stop here. But the big problem with the place is it's the last gas station on the way into the airport, meaning it gets very busy - and there aren't that many pumps. Trying to navigate ones way through here, especially on a Friday night, is near impossible. Do yourself a favor and stop for gas earlier. read more

This is a gas station that takes advantage of the out of state visitors that fly into Bush Intercontinental Airport. Gas has been under $2 a gallon for over two weeks and still sells gas for $2.50. I have heard their excuse of it being a high volume gas station and that there are others around the area but this is not what Houston is about. For anyone who rents a car please fill up elsewhere. read more

Price gouging since close to airport. Get fuel before your arrive here and save at least 60 cents a gallon. Would give it a 0 star if possible. Just don't like businesses taking advantage of others - just be fair. read more

Is it more expensive than other stores? Sure, but what do I care my company is paying for it. I can't imagine how much busier this place would be if it was priced like the other 2 across the street. I fill up 4-5 gallons so for me is it worth it to circle around and waste 20 minutes in traffic to save my company $3? No thanks, Ive been coming here for over 10 years biweekly and I love pulling into the full service and having an attendant fill my car up. Its a throwback to the days when I was growing up and I wish more offered it today, pumping gas is dirty and Id rather not do it. I see some people think its overpriced, I will never understand people like that and I understand thats what yelp is all about, coming online to complain, but if you think a product is overpriced, you can easily fill up elsewhere. I dont mind paying an extra few bucks for CONVENIENCE and this place is as convenient as it gets, its the last stop before the airport and the rental car return is not even a mile behind it. read more

Rip off. Do yourself a favor and never stop here. Price Gouging at its worst. Spend an extra five minutes turning left off JFK to the west and head into the station there. Nothing like trying to screw your fellow Americans. A$$holes. read more

My father and I went to this gas station to fuel up a rental car because now some rental car agencies are demanding a receipt from a gas station within 10 miles of the airport. I followed my dad in my vehicle to turn in his rental and chose to fill up at this Shell station it's on JFK and Greens Road. Do not give these people your business. While waiting for my father to finish buying his gas I was verbally assaulted by a woman who works there for parking. When I explained I was waiting for my dad and that we were customers she then yelled, "You got five minutes!" Who acts like that. I noticed other people "parked" at the station and yet she only chose to try to make me leave. I would say get your gas and your service from a less rude and possibly less racist place. I didn't mention we were the only black people there and the only ones told not to "park" there. read more
