The flight was fast, fun and relaxing (unlike driving, which is long, boring and uncomfortable after a point) and it saved so much time traveling we had hours to go do things we thought we would miss out on. Cirrus Air Express literally took care of all the loose ends of the trip and made it more than to be expected, I literally thought WOW when they had our favorite drinks and snacks on the plane, they had asked earlier when we scheduled but didn't think anything of it but all those little things made it so special for us. We will use them again and are going to tell all of our friends!!! We are looking forward to the Branson Missouri trip before Christmas to see a show, eat somewhere and take the little lady shopping.

Having attended and/or worked for them both I can say with confidence that Riverside Flight Center (RFC) has far superior training whether practical flight or expert knowledge. I attribute this largely in part to the chief flight instructor, Landon Herman. Because of him he's trained up some expert check airman for the private pilot, instrument, and commercial programs. I underwent the majority of my training at Spartan, and was so disgusted by my experience that I actually left aviation for four years. My friend convinced me to finish my instructor rating at RFC, and I passed first attempt in five weeks after being out for so long. I know people that prepare for literally months for the CFI initial. I then worked for RFC for almost two years to build my hours up to ATP minimums to head to the Airlines. I have worked with people, and developed friendships from all over the globe that last years after! Yuri is the owner and he's surrounded himself with some top notch people, so if you desire the best flight instruction in town, this is the place!

If you're considering Spartan College for flight training, run the other way. This program is a…read morecatastrophic failure wrapped in marketing fluff and empty promises. What's sold to students as a gateway to the skies is nothing more than a disorganized, dishonest, and deeply disappointing money pit. Student morale is at rock bottom. Walk through the flight department and you'll hear the same story again and again--delays, broken promises, mismanaged schedules, and a near-complete lack of support. Students are strung along for months, sometimes years, with inconsistent instructor availability, poor aircraft maintenance, and zero transparency. Want to know about airline cadet partnerships? So did we. Unfortunately, Spartan College has NONE. Despite what recruiters might imply, there are no guaranteed pathways, no cadet programs, and no real relationships with airlines. You're on your own after graduation--assuming you even make it that far without going broke or burning out from the chaos. And let's talk about academics--because Spartan barely does. There have been multiple credible accusations of academic fraud, from falsified records to gross misrepresentation of course content and outcomes. Exams are often recycled and outdated, and some instructors barely show up or engage. This isn't just lazy--it's dangerous in a field that demands precision and integrity. For a program that charges premium tuition, you'd expect at least a basic level of professionalism. Instead, you get mismanagement at every level, from the flight line to the so-called academic leadership. Students aren't just dissatisfied--they're disillusioned, disrespected, and drowning in debt with little to show for it. Bottom line: Spartan's flight program is a disgrace. You're better off training literally anywhere else. Save your time, money, and sanity. The sky may be the limit, but Spartan College will clip your wings before you ever get off the ground.

The…read moreschool gets a bad rap from others for being unorganized and unhelpful but I found this to be mostly untrue. As a student this school is all about how much effort you are willing to put in. If you show up to each lesson prepared and study what the curriculum calls for, you will have no problem getting through the program efficiently. However just like with any other flight school, Spartan has a few downfalls I noticed as a student. First being lack of airplanes at the time the lesson was schedule for causing the lesson to get cancel. However recently Spartan has been adding more aircraft to its fleet. Instructing at Spartan gave me an opportunity to build valuable flight time towards my ATP minimums relatively quickly. It also sharpened my skills and knowledge being able to teach to students. One of the downfalls I notice as a flight instructor was the amount of time students had to wait for a stagecheck/checkride. Sometimes students would wait weeks at a time for a stagecheck/checkride, during this time the student would need review lessons to keep their skills sharp. However this seem to slightly improve throughout my time as an instructor by Spartan hiring more check airman and prioritizing stagechecks and checkrides. In conclusion their is no other Part 141 school where you can go from 0 time to CFI at an accelerated rate for the price they charge.

The famous Tulsa Cave House was built by Joseph Koberling Sr. and James Purzer during the 1920's…read more Originally this cave like building was designed as a restaurant with outdoor dining. This restaurant served as a front to a speakeasy at night (with possible activity involving mobsters, shady business, etc). A long time ago there were tunnels (that are long gone, as they had collapsed, according to our tour guide and owner of the home) that served as an entrance and exit point. The Fire Department actually came to check and see around the home and had found some of those collapsed tunnels and that it would lead to the back of the home and over the hill. Since then, this home was owned by a few other owners and then was left abandoned for many years until Linda Collier purchased this home in 1997 and eventually repaired and restored the home. She opened this home to the public in 2007 for tours (only $10 per person). According to Linda, the home was in such a disrepair that the realtor she was with refused to enter. But as soon as Linda stepped in, she knew she just had to purchase it. She was going to move in but said that a ghost/ apparition convinced her not to move in. So she used it as a place for her woodwork and a place to write (she still does not live in the home). During that time, locals would ring the doorbell and ask if they could take a peek inside, as they had always known about the cave house but had always wondered what laid inside. Eventually Linda decided to provide tours for locals and tourists. My husband and I came for a visit on a Thursday afternoon (we had contacted Linda earlier that day and said she would be able to give a tour at 2 pm. She was so sweet to let us come in earlier, as we had arrived a bit earlier). We sat in the living room and heard a few stories of the home and looked at the old photos that she had to share of previous owners of the home and of what this home looked like before. She also told us that her home was featured on HGTV's "Home Strange Home" show and also is in the book "Weird Oklahoma." Then she showed us around her home and explained what she had done to the walls or what she had added, etc. Upstairs, there is a fun slide that my husband went down twice (lol, he's such a kid at heart). Linda had said that she added that slide for her daughter (such a cool mom she is. I wish I had a slide in my bedroom when I was kid). It was very interesting to learn about the history that Tulsa had. Also earlier in the week, some locals at a dog event we had gone to with our little girl dog, had told us about the Tulsa Cave House (although I already had this place bookmarked before visiting Oklahoma) and that they had gone on a tour and that it was worth a visit. Our tour was about 50 minutes and thought it was at a good pace and a fun activity to do. If you are looking for something out of box and happen to be visiting Tulsa, you should consider checking out the Tulsa Cave House. It is recommended to make an appointment beforehand. Although you may get lucky to do a walk in, if Linda is home.
