It is operated by Translink and not Belfast International Airport and to be honest they operate it to perfection. I have got this bus plenty loads of times when there is no one available to pick me up from Aldergrove. It departs every 15 minutes (at peak times), 24 hours a day which is pretty impressive. One thing that is worth noting is that it departs and arrives in to Europa bus centre (Underneath The Europa Hotel) and in the wee small hours of the morning there won't be any onward travel on offer apart from the City Taxis. The Bus itself costs £7.50 for a single and £10.50 for a return which is reasonable when you consider that a taxi one way will be around £30. I have never had any problems with this service. The buses are usually well maintained and the journey is always smooth.

For thirteen pound per person (return included) we tossed our carryons into a luggage space beneath the bus, and we were off to the city. Sure, it would be more convenient if passengers could use debit or credit cards for the bus fare, but only cash was accepted. Still I enjoyed this twenty five minute trip. If more buses were this efficient and comfortable, I believe fuel emissions would be significantly reduced. While riding through the northern side of the Emerald Isles rolling hills and lovely green pastures, I got to enjoy the scenery while doing a small part to preserve the greenery.

On Saturday, going through security was slower than usual, but it was rush hour and lots of people were entering the hall at the same time. We were shouted at for putting our suitcases into the trays but we were told to put them into trays at Edinburgh. I guess different airports will have different systems but it was a bit confusing. Once through, you can go to one of the cafes or shops. I didn't really spot that many though. For shopping, it is mainly just travel essentials like Superdrug, Boots and Duty Free, and there are restaurants like Burger King and Starbucks. They have refurbished the toilets which I was glad about because I remember they were pretty gross before. Some gates will require longer walks than others as they are in annex areas as opposed to being integrated with the shops like in Edinburgh. Why the 4 star review? Because of memories, and I have been subjected to the awfulness of Edinburgh Airport, so I'm glad by how BFS is a bit more organised and less stressful.

Coastal Cabs will take you the scenic route or if you want to get somewhere quickly they will take you down those old country roads that still have grass growing in the middle. Te only thing to be careful with if you are calling Coastal cabs is that during the week they operate only until 12 midnight. The fares are great and they will always give you an honest price. You can almost guarantee good banter from the drivers, they are the eyes and ears of the local community and will tell you all the gossip/news before it hit's the papers.
