Throughout my time here, I have found the administrative staff to be unhelpful and difficult to reach. Inquiries sent via email or made over the phone frequently go unanswered, and in-person requests for assistance are often dismissed without adequate solutions. Based on these persistent communication issues, I cannot recommend this school to prospective students looking for a supportive academic environment.

Once you're enrolled and classes start the advisor gives you different information. This is school a joke and is looking to make money. They are not being honest with new students coming in. Horrible waste of time and money. I withdraw from all of my classes before the last day to withdraw and they gave me a grade of F for both classes. All my work was 90 or above on all assignments and participation. Why didn't get a W? Why a F? I received a call almost 1 year later threatening me to a balance of $1600 or I would be sent to collections. I never received a letter in the mail or anything regarding a bill. This school needs to be permanently closed for the fraud they committed. Other people has experienced this horrible treatment from these unprofessional people. When asked for a bill to mailed to me and a back down of the outstanding balance the guy Victor +1 (518) 786-0855 couldn't tell. As per Victor "you owe the balance if you don't pay I'm sending you to collections today, good luck, congratulations you'll be in collections" in the was of the professional at the school. I think it may depend on your expectations - I chose the school for its location, degree program & professor interests/background. They have more professors from outside the US than most schools & this is purposeful. It really widens the range of what's being learned, taught and studied around the world, not just the US. In my opinion, that was one of the most valuable things I had access to there.

After admitting students from China, they became suspicious of them and refused to trust them. They separated the Chinese students from students of other nationalities and confined only the Chinese students in a classroom for questioning. They acted like prison guards. After that, they disregarded school policy and changed the rules arbitrarily. They were petty tyrants in a small, enclosed space. But times have changed. Although Shelly Fox has retired and Joff has moved on to teach at the Rhode Island School of Design, I will never forget the harm and humiliation they inflicted on me.

Butler Library and Avery Architectural Fine Arts Library have beautiful interiors that are ideal look for a historic college library, as well as the modern style of Engineering Library. Among them, I like Lehman Social Sciences Library the most, though I rarely take SIPA courses, there is a microwave on the sixth floor of the building to heat meals, and small self-study rooms, which is very suitable for spending a whole day reviewing for exams and writing the thesis. One of the great things about the Columbia Library is that you can find almost every kind of study space here. Study on the second-floor mezzanine, study in the quaint rooms with low light, study in the small rooms like telephone booths, study on the edge of the numerous bookshelves... They have desks in almost every corner of the library, and you can always find a study atmosphere that attracts you.
