When you book your flight that there can be rush hour traffic in the hotel zone. The bridge opening could help with the traffic. The AC was running and was great to have on full blast from the heat. They even sent a VIP van to our hotel because they said they were in the area so not garuntee for that type of car but was a great surprise. For pick up at the airport they were a little hidden and at the back of all the pick up transfers so had to do a little bit of looking. Used the WhatsApp concierge to try and find them but didn't need it in the long run.

We also requested that they simply stop at the hotel on the way to the airport, and they flatly refused to add it as a stop. Despite the hotel being only 7 minutes from the airport, they demanded an additional $65, claiming it was a "new service." This was unreasonable, especially since we were not asking for a separate trip, only a stop along the existing route--not to go to the airport first and then be taken to the hotel. The driver was not the issue at all--drivers are clearly restricted and monitored by GPS. The problem lies entirely with the reservation staff, who were rigid, unhelpful, and unwilling to offer any solution. They even claimed that no manager was available, which is both inexcusable and highly questionable during peak season. This was an overpriced, inflexible, and poorly managed service that added stress to an already difficult travel situation. I would not recommend this company to anyone expecting reasonable customer service or flexibility.

We ended up having to contact our booking agency who was able to get ahold of Fragata and we were finally picked up at 10:50. Our van did not have AC, thus we had a very very warm ride to the boat. We were let out of the van and told to walk to the end of the path at La Isla Plaza. We weren't given any further direction and were ultimately approached by an employee because we looked lost. We were directed to check in and ended up having to shelve out $70 we didn't expect to pay. Through our booking agency we were told the transportation was $12, and it ended up being $15 (not a big problem). We were then told there was a $20 dock fee per person. An additional $40 we weren't aware of. (Inconvenient, but not the end of the world). We get on the boat and they immediately start blasting music. The ride was beautiful and the staff were extremely nice. Although their English wasn't the best, we got by and enjoyed them. We pulled up to snorkel (expecting that was the purpose of the trip), and only snorkeled for 30-40 minutes. We were given fins and masks, but no snorkel. We got back on the boat, they let folks jump off the boat, but that was the extent of the swimming. We then got back in the boat and were taken to the restaurant in Isla Mujeres. We went to Ice Bar but never say ice, or the bar. The food was decent. The ceviche was the best part. After sweating outside in the dining area, we went back to the boat and were taken to Isla Mujeres' north beach by boat. Once at the beach, you are bombarded by people peddling trinkets and typical tourist trap nonsense. We weren't given any direction and honestly didn't know we'd be going to Isla Mujeres to walk around at all. If you're booking this for a snorkeling trip, I would avoid it. If you're looking to eat decent food and explore Isla Mujeres's north beach, it's a great idea. The final straw to this adventure was the ride back to hotel in the provided transportation. We got into a cramped van with 8 other patrons and the driver had the A/C off. I know it worked because it was initially on, but dear lord the hour ride back to Playa Del Carmen was insufferable. The window next to me got steamed up and was genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had. To the point I considered ordering an Uber to make it back. All in all, quite the adventure.

It was pouring rain when we arrived, after meeting the driver, we all ran to the car. For my first trip to Mexico, this was a bit of a frightening experience. After dropping us off, our driver seemed busy and I handed him a tip and said thank you. 10 minutes later he is calling my husband repeatedly saying we didn't pay, when my husband told him we had a confirmation and paid on the website in advance. As we were waiting to check in and sitting with our guest services rep, the driver found us in the lobby and I told him we paid for this already and luckily had printed out my confirmation. He took a picture and sent it to his boss. This experience made me worried that they were not going to show up to drop us at the airport since we had booked round trip transportation. Unlike when we were arriving to Cancun, when we received confirmations about our upcoming transfer for departure we didn't receive one. I reached out the day before to make sure they would show and that they knew which lobby to get us from. The day of, the driver told us he was going to be 20 minutes late, 20 minutes turned into 40 minutes and I had asked my husband to reach out because at this point we were sitting in anxiety that we were going to miss our flight but the driver called to ask which lobby ( information we provided the day before). It was the last flight of the day. Our driver was also coughing quite a bit, and I regretted not putting on my mask like I should have because after we got out I felt sick the rest of the weekend. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

I went here from our hotel as it was the closest ferry terminal to our hotel. We took a bus ride…read moreand were a little confused where to go after we entered the Embarcadero. We were told to go right to the red rood where to buy the ferry tickets. It was $37 USD per person and it was roundtrip. We only did the ferry it is cheaper to pay in pesos than USD. Once you get your ticket you go to the waiting area until your ferry arrives. If you need to use the bathroom, there's one available before you go to the waiting area but be sure to show your ticket to the security guard or else it's $10 to use. When you are about to board the ferry, you have to scan the ticket. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET THIS TICKET WET OR TO LOSE IT. Or else you will have to pay again. The ride is about a half hour and it's beautiful. The ferry has indoor and outdoor seating. There was a man singing during our ride and afterwards he did ask for a tip. You will always be offered to take a catamaran, to go snorkeling, to rent a golf cart, etc.
