Bank of Ireland in Sutton is infinitely superior to it's Raheny counterpart. For one thing, it's bigger, and has at least twice as many staff, which keeps the cash queues moving along a whole lot quicker. And if you want to use the customer service counter, you don't have to queue in the classic sense. You take a ticket and sit down and read one of the newspapers that they've thoughtfully provided and wait until your number is called. Course there are glitches to this system: stupid old biddies who pay no heed when their number is called, then realise their error and decide to cut in in front of you. And the bank staff let them. I know that old, god bless them, but if they were sent back to get another number and wait their turn again it might make them a little less inattentive in the future. And there is one - and there's only one way to put this - dopey bitch who works there. Totally oblivious, and giving the most asinine and ignorant suggestions. So avoid Mary Something or Other, but otherwise a damn fine financial institution.

If you haven't gotten your debit card yet, this branch is even more useless because they don't handle any cash. of course, I didn't find that out until Monday morning and had to wait that long because I was not given the account data until 3:45 PM on Friday, two days after the application was submitted, and 15 minutes before they close. Therefore, there was no way I could deposit cash into the account anyway, and so spent a few days without services, all because this bank can't get anything done quickly. The great thing about this branch is the opening hours; it's open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays except Thursdays where it's open until 8pm. On Saturday they are open from 9am to 1pm which is also handy. Overall, a modern trendy looking branch that caters well for the 9-5 work shift!

This is a handy spot to pick up some moolah for a shopping expedition on Grafton Street.
