First I'd like to note that the place itself is very well kept. Clean tables, floors, serving table, etc. Service was lacking could definitely use some more attentiveness and enthusiasm in here. Hit and miss depending on who's making your order. I've ordered ahead online many times. The portions vary and so does the flavor. I think some employees put more sauce than some. I thought they made their own Thai tea here since they charge around $4 here for a Thai tea. Turns out it's just a canned Thai tea drink. I've been to ahi poke a number of times and I've always been impressed with their service. Super friendly, attentive and on it with meeting specific requests. I typically get their bowl or sushi-burrito and am always left with 2 meals because it's so much food. The fish is marinated well, sometimes it can use some more flavoring but it's always complemented by all of the great toppings you can select. The staff is always friendly and I like that I can grab a healthy alternative to eat after my marathon shopping session at Homegoods! read more

I Love me a good poke bowl. I tried this place because the pictures looked tasty and the price was right! I was a big fan of PokeLand in Redding (didn't survive Covid); this place is very much the same idea *thumbs up* You pick you base for the bowl: I chose organic mixed greens (lower carbs) You pick 2 or 3 scoops of protein: I chose tuna, spicy tuna and salmon. You pick your sauce(s) that will be used to coat the proteins and mix in's: I really like the house spicy mixed with the wasabi citrus sauces. The server suggested that I add chili powder to the mix for an extra kick *yum* I asked for ALL of the mix-in's and ALL of the toppings available (included in the price). As you can see, there are a wide variety of options and the 3 scoops is a good sized portion for even a hungry adult. If it was for my college-aged son, I would substitute the organic mixed greens for brown rice instead; the boy can eat! 3 scoops of protein with ALL the included mix-ins and topping came to $12.95+ tax. My boyfriend and I were visiting 18 Grams next door and I was in the mood for spam musubi, so we decided to pop into AhiPoki to check it out. It was a little past lunchtime on a Saturday, so it wasn't crazy busy. The man at the counter was really attentive and welcoming - he offered us samples of the different types of poke and took time to explain that they even had a vegan poke option (which we sampled and were pleasantly surprised by!). Despite walking in with the intention of only ordering musubi, we couldn't pass up ordering a bowl to share too. We got a regular bowl with all kinds of toppings, and the guy who was helping us took the time to actually make our bowl look so nice and appetizing (as opposed to some places that kind of just plop everything on top). We added our order of spam musubi at the register, and it was made to order and brought to our table after we paid. One thing I have to rave about here is the topping option of macaroni salad! It's one of those things that I love indulging in, and I was so happy to find that AhiPoki has it as an option, along with crab salad and seaweed salad. There are also so many possible combinations, with the different bases to choose from, seasoned poke, unseasoned poke, different sauces, and many toppings. She let me know the spicy level of each item I was inquiring about. I asked what she would recommend of combinations , complementary I had already picked. The size was a good size. For sauces, I got a mix of the House Sauce and Spicy Creamy. For toppings, I kept it simple and just got green onions, seaweed salad, crab salad, avocado ($1 extra) and masago. I also topped it all off with crispy onions. Overall, the bowl was delicious and pretty filling, although the portions of the proteins could be better. I particularly like their seaweed salad and crab salad. However, for $15 that is just way too much for poke, especially with all the competition emerging. The spam musubi seems to be a common theme these days too. Howevahhh....This place has a few rare treats such as the albacore, blazing salmon, and kimchi shrimp. And I like em all. So do yourself a favor, get the big BYOB and try all three at once! Hey don't feel bad for overindulging...Poke is good for u. Its healthy eats, not guilty treats. lol. We all know that the Poke craze is hitting many major metropolitan areas all over America. However, I knew about this type of popular Hawaiian dish years ago when I resided in the Bay Area. The best way of describing this type of food to my non-Poke friends, I explain to them that it's like a deconstructed sushi roll but with salad and other ingredients. Many people steer clear of raw fish. But I love it since you get to taste the flavors in their original non-cooked form. This takes me on a journey to the Arden area of Sacramento, specifically in the newly formed Howe Bout Arden shopping center where "AhiPoki" opened its doors back in May 2018. This company actually has several locations, most of which are in Southern California with a few in Arizona. However, this location as well as one in Roseville are currently the only two in the greater Sacramento area. I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00pm while my lady does shopping at some nearby retail stores. The overall size of this restaurant is spacious with ample seating throughout. It wasn't too busy at all as I was able to walk up and place my order. Think of their ordering system similar to that of Chipotle. You get your choice of a regular bowl (2 scoops) or large bowl (3 scoops). You then pick out your base (rice, salad, or 50/50 mix), protein (tuna, yellowtail, albacore, octopus, etc.), sauce, and toppings. Since there was a nice variety of choices, I ended up going with a regular sized bowl (for $9.95) with 1/2 rice & 1/2 organic salad. I then chose blazing salmon & yellowtail (for $1 extra) for my protein choices, spicy creamy sauce, and topped it off with green onions, edamame beans, masago, imitation crab meat, seaweed salad, and crispy onions as my toppings. After paying the cashier, I grab some chopsticks, napkins, soy sauce, and proceed to dine in. I will say that you do get a very generous amount of food for what you're paying for. However, they were being very nice with the rice & salad portion while being a tad bit stingy on the salmon and yellowtail. This is to be expected as these are arguably premium items. However, it was a good decent meal as I did get filled up after finishing my entire bowl. The nice part about a Poke bowl is that you have the option of eating everything individually or mixing it all up. Overall, "AhiPoki" is a nice addition to this part of Sacramento and should do well with the businesses in this shopping center. My rating for this place, an above average four stars. read more

Came for dinner during their Grand Opening, and there was a long line, as expected, but didn't have to wait too too long. Since the promotion was half off all poke bowls with a drink purchase, I ordered a large (3 scoops protein) and added extra everything. LOL They were out of the "tuna luau," but had ample amounts of everything else. I tried the kimchi shrimp, unagi (bbq eel), and spicy ahi. I love that they offer unagi and that they heat it up before plating it. It was pretty delicious. I got the spicy creamy sauce and the house sauce, both flavorful, and added my own Sriracha for a kick. I paid $10 for my large poke bowl and bottled green tea, a steal, considering my bowl at regular price would've been about $15-16. Interior has lots of seating, is clean and modern. The cashier and a couple of the other line staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the crowd, but they did a good job keeping the line flowing. In Sacramento! Decided to stop by here before heading next door for a Yelp event. It was around 7:45p and the place was completely empty. The dining area was nice (wood flooring and recessed lighting, booths and table seating), spacious and immaculate! I was told by the girls behind the counter that they just had a soft opening about a month ago and they had not had their grand opening yet. Just sharing what was told to me. I thought they already had their grand opening. Anyway, I walked in with the spam musubi in mind... The Spam Musubi order came with two pieces for $4.99. (unagi musubis are sold for $5.99). Sooooo delicious! They did not skimp on that sweet soy sauce and a spam musubi never tasted so good and tasty. I love these little treats and wished they sold it in more places. In Hawaii, musubis are found at every convenience shop on the islands, 7-11 included! The meals were average in price and the menu had a variety of selection. Anyway, I can't wait to come back to try more from their menu. This new poke bowl restaurant is located in the revamped Howe 'Bout Arden shopping area. AhiPoki is a great place to stop before stuffing your face with buttered popcorn from the adjacent and newly remodeled Century Theatres. Would I Come Back? Yes, but reluctantly. Big on flavor, but small on portions, especially for the price. 5 star for flavor and 3 star for portion. Small $9.95, Large $12.25. Tips for 1st Timers: 1. Order Chipotle style 2. They allow for more than one sauce. Get one mixed and another on the side 3. They have a rewards/frequent user card available through the Thanx App. If you don't mind providing Thanx your credit card info on file, you immediately get a 2 scoop bowl with avocado for free. Comparisons: Hokee Poke (Elk Grove) prepares their bowls similarly to AhiPoki which I prefer over Zumapoke which just places everything in the bowl and then drizzles the sauce on top. Having the sauces mixed with the ingredients before plating offers much more equal flavor, especially for tofu that on its own, has no flavor. Winner - Hokee Poke because of preparation, selection, flavor, portion size, price, and avocado is included for vegetarians. AhiPoki isn't far behind, but their selection, portions, and price gives them the Silver Medal in the Poke Olympics. Zuma is a respectful 3rd in this race. How to Order: Step 1: Choose your base: rice, brown rice, organic salad, or half/half. Vegetarians have a single option, organic tofu. Small bowl = 2 scoops. Large = 3 scoops. Step 2: Usual suspects (edamame, wakame, pickled cucumbers, and more. Step 3: Choose your sauce. I recommend spicy creamy and teriyaki. Step 4: Choose your topping (crushed pepper, similar to pizza peppers, crispy onion, and furikake). Organic Tofu Bowl (Small $9.95, Grade A): I started with a bed of steamed, sticky rice. This, unfortunately, is the most generous of portions, filling more than half the shallow bowl. Then two scoops of tofu from the tiniest scooper I've ever seen. The tofu is cubed and fresh. Next up are the fixins. Vegetarians have plenty of options here, but make sure to get the wakame on the side (not mixed in the bowl) and be warned, the sliced, fresh jalapeños pack a hot-punch. I also enjoyed the bitterness the sliced onions provide and for added protein, definitely get the edamame. These are a must because the bulk of the overall flavor comes from the sauces and toppings. They are fairly generous when sprinkling the toppings over the top of your finished bowl. Pro Tip: After you finish Steps 1 - 4, request they top your bowl with more sauce. It provides more flavor, but it's really so you can take a really nice looking Instagram food photo. Overall Restaurant Observations: 1. Friendly staff 2. Clean 3. Comfortably warm. Most poke houses keep their establishes fish locker cold. It was very cozy. 4. They use new gloves for each bowl preparation. 5. Bathrooms have tissue so you don't have to touch any door handles when you leave. Bottom Line: Friendly and clean, cozy temperature, and big flavors put this on the food radar. Unfortunately, if you come hungry, you'll leave hungry. Maybe if they included avocado for vegetarians, that healthy fat would help satisfy the belly. Oh wee am I glad we came to the shopping center tonight to try out cream. So of course we needed dinner first. My friend wanted Mexican so went to rio Café. I wanted veggie sushi. Well, this is a great location because it is right next to the Arden theatre, there are stores around, CREAM is right next door, and the mall is a drive down the street. The price? Tbh, if you want a sushi burrito, go to Make Fish. As for the bowls, I think it's average. ~10 for two scoops & ~$13 for 5(?) scoops. The food? My favorite thing about AhiPoki is their Wasabi Citrus sauce. Suuuppppeerrrr yummy!!! I also like how they have Spam as a "protein" choice lol! The scoops are okay. Not too big and not too little. I give it two stars because the customer service was great! I did an online order and picked it up and notices my order was not refrigerated when I got there. I assumed it would be safe since I picked it up right away. I started eating it in my car. The spicy tuna did not taste fresh and it had a weird sour taste to it so I stopped eating g because I was afraid of getting sick. So I called and spoke to Majia. (I hope I didn't misspell that) she was very apologetic and friendly. She said the manager was not in and she couldn't do a refund so she took down my number and said she would have the manager call me the next day. I have yet to hear back. I spent $16 and could not get a refund. Just because I didn't want to be "that type of customer that complains" I even kept it in my refrigerator to go in and show them that I wasn't trying to get a free meal.
