i had my first go-around with this place via doordash a few months back in december, and i had a great experience trying poke for the first time! eating seafood in the desert sounds like CRAZY work but trust me, it was hella good! i love the customize-your-own-bowl, subway-esque premise of it all. i also ended up getting the unagi musubi and miso soup, both of which were tasty. i also had the thai iced tea, but it was slightly watery due to the ice in it. about two to three-ish months ago, i doordashed from here again and was satisfied twice. overall, i definitely plan on patronizing this restaurant more often in the (very) near future! read more

Meh, This place used to be really good about 5 yrs ago. Slowly things have changed little by little, a few months ago they added Hot Food and a better option with their smaller bowls which were pretty good. I've always had an issue with 60% of the young stuff, they have an attitude problem and act like you're troubling them. Made the mistake of stopping today and the first thing the employee said "you can only get 3 toppings and one base" they changed things. I said I'm okay and walked out, portions are smaller and I'm sure prices are up. NO THANK YOU, Ahipoki runs like they don't need your business, sure feels like they don't want it or mind losing it to a neighbor restaurant. I don't live in Phoenix but visit every month and just drove by this spot. Great selection of items to make for your Poki bowl. I opted for the double scoop of salmon with white rice, seaweed salad, spicy creamy sauce, cucumbers, onions and edamame. Service was fine, nothing amazing. I took it to go. He was rushing me during my entire experience, didn't know what came in any of the specialty fish combos, mixed on the fish together, and kept on smacking his lips during our entire encounter. I will not be returning due to the hostile environment. My biggest gripe with this place is that there is an older woman who works here, who I just happen to get EVERY SINGLE TIME I go here, and I've been here over 10x. She skimps on all the ingredients, and she'll shake the protein off a scoop so that she gives the bare minimum of protein. She'll also pick the smallest amount of the toppings as well. It really makes me feel like I'm being ripped off, considering their prices. Only reason I keep coming back is because it's the closest and only poke location to my house. The last straw for me, and the reason I haven't been back in over 6 months is because when I ordered a half white rice and half brown rice, she gave me half white rice and half salad. I corrected her and said, half white, half brown rice, she looked irritated and then scooped off a bit of the white rice and then added a little scoop of brown rice and then left the salad. I tried to correct her again that I didn't want salad, but she just ignored me by that point and moved on to protein. Sick of having to keep correcting the order, I just let it go and moved on. But I'm so tired of dealing with this lady that I just drive the extra 10 mins to another poke location now. That aside, it's a standard poke place. My first thought, the two scoop bowl is tiny for the price compared to other poke places. As I started ordering I noticed the spoons they used are also tinier than other poke places when I asked for more of the toppings I was told it was "extra", the bowl is tiny as it is how much can extra toppings really cost the business?! I had a small bowl with spicy tuna and garlic soy sauce, along with a few other fixings. My drink was the Thai tea. The spicy tuna was perfect for me because it wasn't too spicy but was just savory enough. The bowl was good but I have been to places with a few more options. My boyfriend's bowl came with white rice. Sushi rice is not an option. The Thai tea was very sweet, containing milk and tea, possibly some spices or coconut. Ordered a pickup order from Ahipoki and arrived about 10 minutes after the pick up time. When I got there, my order wasn't prepared and they were not very busy. One of the workers said she would start on it then and when I received my food I was missing rice and crab salad, random sides were added, and the lid was not put on properly causing the food and sauce to spill out of the bowl and into the bag. Two separate times we ordered from here using Uber Eats and our bowls were missing poke scoops. A few months ago my husband and I both ordered a two scoop poke bowl and we both only got one scoop. Ok not a huge deal, people make mistakes right? Well, today we ordered two bowls again with two scoops of poke and guess what? WE GOT ZERO SCOOPS! How in the hell did they forget to give us the main part of the meals- THE POKE! So basically we paid $43 for salad and rice and no fish, LOL. This was just my 2nd visit to any poki restaurant. My first was in Hawaii which is all I have to compare it to. That being said, Ahipoki was not bad at all. I had the regular bowl with brown rice and kimchi shrimp and spicy tuna. The fish was fresh and well prepared. They had a good verity of toppings and the house spicy sauce was just right. Not having a lot to compare it to I would say it was a tasty meal and adequate portions. The server was helpful and very friendly. Visited on a Tuesday around 1pm. I was serviced right away. They have plenty of parking and plenty of indoor seating. I got my bowl to go I had the small bowl with both scoops being spicy tuna. The spicy tuna tasted nice & fresh . I also really liked the creamy sauce they offer. One thing I didn't like was that they charge for the crab meat and extra .75 not too much but it's something I'm not used to. They do charge 1.50 extra for avocado. The menu is self explanatory. First time coming to order on my own but I had been gifted with it prior and enjoyed it. The restaurant is clean. It's sort of odd in that I didn't really notice prices anywhere. What seems to be the base is 2 scoops of fish which was $9.95 as of today. Then there some toppings that can cost more like avocado which added $1.50 and yellowtail adds a dollar. Today I got the ahi tuna and salmon as they were just raw chunks of meat and it was pretty good. For a shade under 11 bucks (without extras) it's not bad.
