I have had numerous massages over the course of time and have really been in search of someone who can fix my problem or at least be more inclined to be motivated to get to the root cause. I am athletic and have spent the good part of my life exercising although my profession has proven to be counter productive over the last 20 years; classic case of sitting too much looking at a computer while maintaining extremely poor posture; (chronic head forward tilt, trap and neck tension/pain). I have had X Rays and MRI's resulting with a trip to a Neurologist and Physical Therapy and massages. Fast forward to today; I found Heather on Yelp and was particularly interested in the Golf Ball approach. Heather sat down with me when I arrived and we chatted about my concerns, she recommended deep tissue using the Golf Ball Massage. She also mentioned that it was not going to be pleasant; it was brutal- a good brutal and deep is right. Heather mentioned that she could have gone deeper. I seriously did not think she was using the Golf Ball as she is so skilled with it, I was thinking while I was laying there that she she was going to switch over and also thinking that she her hands were exceptionally strong. The massage was superb, through the pain and well worth it, I really needed it. If you have a good degree of muscle mass and or you know you have some challenging knots this method will get to the bottom of it. The lobby and therapy room was fist class, very tastefully decorated, nice music, etc. I will definitely be going back and am so happy that I found her. I also purchased two of the Golf Massage kits for my personal use, going to put my wife to work- great tool for someone who lacks stamina and hand strength. Lastly as I type this, 5 and a half hours later I definitely feel substantially improved from this massage compared to any others I have tried to address the same issue. I was introduced to Heather from a Groupon offer, I'm glad I did because she was very quick to respond to my e-mails and gave me a call to schedule an appointment, we exchanged a few more e-mails to lock in a time and date and she is always very quick to respond. Best massage I've ever had. Hands down. I've been struggling with muscle tension for many years, largely due to my inflexibility and hesitance to stretch. When it all knots up, it gets really tight -- problem areas are my shoulders and neck, my waist down, my forearms, you name it... I've got tightness. Heather is a different kind of masseuse than I'm used to. A clear communicator and an innovator in the industry. Her golf ball massage technique allows for deeper penetration and better results than the traditional thai/swedish techniques, and is still very relaxing -- even when breaking through some painful tension. Her rate is $100 an hour and well worth it, her office is very clean and professional, and the massage table is padded and heated for a sublime overall experience. I'd recommend her to anyone. 7 months pregnant and achy, I was in desperate need of a prenatal massage. I tried someone else in town and they were just too soft. After finding Heather here on yelp, I was so excited to go see her. Well, she didn't disappoint! She reached all of those deep muscles in the low back and sciatic that were crying for help. You have to try Heather. I absolutely loved the massage I got today. She has a technique where she uses a golf ball to go deeper into pressure points. It hurts, but I felt so much better afterward. I get migraines, and she talked with me about what I could do at home to loosen up the areas at the base of my scalp, which have knots in them. Massages are always a "nice to have" when it comes to personal comfort. However, I think Heather at Ahhhmmm takes it to a whole new level. She is well versed in many techniques and I have been several times to her based on my individual needs. Today I had my second, two hour massage session with Heather of Ahhhmmm Massage. Her facility is spotless. She greets you with a big, genuine smile. She's really just lovely. Her table is warm and comfy. Her oil/lotion feels clean, absorbs well and smells fantastic. Her hands warm up as she works and her touch is perfect. Her pace is exactly what I like, a bit of swift medium pressure Swedish followed with long, slow, firm strokes that are what I consider true deep tissue. She also finishes an area with a Lomi Lomi technique that puts me in a state of relaxation that I don't often get to experience. She told me up front she doesn't talk during a massage and she doesn't, unless I ask for something or she's checking with me about pressure. To sum up, I'm a massage therapist myself, I went to a very good school and moved back to TO last year, and I'm so stoked to have found Heather. I doubt I'll ever go to someone else as long as she's available. The 2 hour sessions are worth every penny. I'm buying in packages from now on. read more

OMG...Just went to see Heather two nights ago. I feel literally like I am walking on air. So amazing..She gently calms your body so it is an orthostatic condition. Relaxes the muscles..Creats such tension free environment. Than the work begins. We start with the large muscles to remove all the nasty build up of acids. I get that from working out. In her approach of the body she feels the mechanism of constant action act against the motion of freeform movement. What a novel idea to creating a fluid massage design. At 7 months pregnant, I purchased a package deal for 3 sessions. The first two sessions were great. The third session changed due to a conflict in Heather's schedule. I tried to reschedule but my pregnancy didn't allow so I gave it to my husband. The night before my husband's appointment we had to cancel because I was having contractions and thought I'd go into labor. I emailed Heather with as much notice as I could. She unfortunately wasn't very understanding and had to count the last minute canceled appointment as our last session. We exchanged several emails but she wasn't sensitive or accommodating to my situation. I lost $81 and a massage appointment. She lost two new clients and any referrals. Oh how I wish this place was located in Denver! While in town for a family wedding I realized that not only did I need a massage, I needed 90 minutes away from the craziness only a family wedding can produce. I showed up to see Heather and walked into not an office but into a haven of serenity, relaxation and pure positive energy. I use to work for a integrative medical practice that offered massage therapy. I was blessed to have available to me massages each week. I've easily had hundreds of massages in my life time and I can honestly tell you that this massage was by far the BEST I have ever experienced. Wow!!!! Where do I start, I injured myself weightlifting 2 years ago... I have been to countless chiropractors, massage therapists, even a neurologist (who sent me thru so many tests it was terrifying MRI, MRA)... I was in pain every single day, absolutely miserable!
