This is probably the best hardware store in Las Vegas! They have a ton of stuff - similar to Ace, but more. When I visited, they weren't very busy, so a sales person took me around the store to every item I needed to buy! It saved me so much time instead of hunting for little items that I needed. I will never walk into this Place EVER Again. I had the Worst Experience for My First Time there.. Walk in ask for the rental counter (showed where) and went to desk - the Employee working was on the phone so we wait (all the silence for the first 3 minute's of him on the phone to someone) He never once Acknowledged our Presence - then just before he gets off the phone My Wife starts to go outside to look at what they had to offer - as she is walking away - he gets off the phone and asked how he could help me - so I start to asked him questions about what -- "Ahern Rentals" had to offer in earth moving equipment -- and then Mid-Sentence into my 2nd Question (at about the SAME Moment) after the phone rings once (pause between rings) My Wife hollers at me (so I Naturally Look at Her - You would to if Your Wife Hollered at You) - the then Employee said to me -- You got to move Fast Around Here -- and Took the Call.. LOOKING @ Me with a Shrug of the Shoulders and Arms "Can't Help You" Well I CAN HELP from Going into to this Place Ever Again....... Wow what a find. Folks this place is not just rentals but a full blown hardware store. I have never been in there and my buddy told me how great the store is. Well today I needed some specialty bolts and decided to give it a try. The selection of bolts is amazing and they are so well organized you can easily find what you need. In fact the whole store is organized well and the prices great. However, the best part was the second I walked in an employee immediately asked me if he could help me and instead of just sending me to aisle x he went and helped me select and find the different thread counts. His name was Martin and he gave me a terrific shopping experience even though I wasn't spending a ton of money. I noticed a guy in the back cutting and making solar window covers and they custom make them there. When I asked Martin about them he grabbed the samples and showed me the options. Now I am going to have them make them for my home after I measure my windows. That type of service is rare these days! read more

We reserved a mini excavator for 9:00 on a Saturday. When we contacted Ahern, they asked us to give them more time. When we went to get it they did not have it. They gave me the trailer at 10:00 there and they directed me to go to Ahern across 215 to pick it up the escavator, which I did, it being 11:00 by the time I got it. Finally arriving at our destination 45 miles away and offloading the equipment, the bucket dropped to the ground. Apparently the pin feel out on the highway. I called Ahern and they told me to come back to Las Vegas and they would give me a pin. When I got there, they did not have any pins and instead I waited while an employee made one for me. This resulted in an entire day of work lost as it was dark by the time I got back up to the mountain. Worked the next day and had to load it up and leave to return it. The total amount of hours was 5. I did not even receive a sorry for the inconveneince, waste of my time, gas, etc. I would never recommend this Ahern to anyone! Customer service was nonexistent.
