Man. Over-promise,…read moreunder-deliver at it's best. I was applying for a Visa in Berlin, and needed to get health insurance as part of the necessary documents. I came to Emre two weeks before my appointment, which seemed like a close call, but also felt possible. I ran around the city frantically, getting all the medical tests, got my boyfriend to sign on as a financially responsible party with me, even opened a German bank account... And we asked Emre over and over - is this going to be done on time? If NOT, I could have rescheduled my visa appointment (which would allow me to stay in the country legally until that date), and I could STOP stressing out and just accept that I would have to do it later. But EVERY DAY Emre said - It's almost done, it's coming, it will be done TOMORROW! Now this is where I started to worry. Tomorrow was getting closer and closer to my appointment... and then it was Friday night, and my appointment was early Monday morning. And Emre said - I'll get the fax tomorrow (wait, but everything is closed on the weekends here!)! And then Saturday he said - Ok, ok, I'll have it FIRST THING on Monday... My appointment started later then expected, and around noon on Monday the strict bureaucratic woman behind a big desk said, - I can not give you a visa until I see that you have your insurance. - But what about my emails from Emre, that it's on the way? - No. - Can I call him again and see if I can get it now? - Yes, of course! He can email it to me right now. So we called Emre. He had nothing. I didn't get my visa. I will be fair - Emre did get the health insurance, but 45 minutes later. 45 minutes AFTER it made any difference to me. He was nice, and apologetic, and I think he really tried... but the thing is, I would have rather known that he couldn't get it done, than waited in vain. A bad truth is better than just not knowing and waiting for a tomorrow that never arrives. So, if you have deadlines - beware. Try someone else. UPDATE: Emre apologised profusely for the huge delays in my legal status here, and said that he would be more than happy to compensate our time by offering us his commission on the deal, which, according to him is just 200 Euros. But alright, the gesture seemed fine, and I actually waited to get my bill for the health insurance to send him my bank info to wire the money. Are we ready for a huge shocking surprise...? Oh yes. It has been three weeks, not A WORD from Emre.
