My parents have a home warranty. This company is contracted to work with the home warranty. They are elderly and the heat index was 114F yesterday. This is day 3 of their AC unit being out again. They have repaired this unit multiple times, but refuse to authorize a replacement of a 35 year old central heat and air unit. They are impossible to reach and receive a response, mostly because he is very slow working on other projects. The quality of work leaves much to be desired. I believe that this company and the home warranty company preys on the elderly. I am checking to see what actions are available. In reply to the comment placed below. My parents had been bounced back and forth between the Home Warranty Company and this company. They called AHC & R first and were treated rudely. Then they contacted the Home Warranty place and were told to contact AHC & R. Several phone calls later, my dad believed that the home warranty place has scheduled the appointment. That is where I became involved. I pulled up their account online and discovered it, in fact, had not been scheduled. Now that is not entirely AHC & R's fault, but I would like to know why in extreme heat, with an elderly couple, a work order for a broken AC unit that has been repaired more than once would not constitute an emergency and expedited call? read more

We had American Heating and Cooling scheduled to do maintenance on our heating unit last fall and waited for three days and they never showed up or called. Then our warranty company assigned them to come for a repair two days ago when the low was 17 at night and they said they would be here that day, never showed, never called back after repeated calls, emails, texts and messages, so NO do not use American Heating and Cooling for any service they provide. They are not dependable nor nice enough to return your call and let you know they are not going to show up. read more

do not work with this company. i was given their name by my home warranty company for a service call on my heating unit....what a nightmare!!!!! they were almost impossible to reach, and when i did reach them ( the wife), was very unprofessional, and seemed to be quite disorganized. she never returned my phone call to get an update on the scheduled appointment after many attempts.....and they were a no show!!!!! they did not even extend the courtesy to let me know they would not be there. a day totally wasted waiting for them. run from them!!!! read more
