Today Cole and I visited aha Indian kitchen the cashierwho explained the food was very nice and did his best to explain to me the different dishes. our meal was delicious we had the chicken tikka masala American spice which Is a four out of five on the spiceometer cole thought it was a little too spicy for him but I thought it was just perfect we also got a dosa that was my first Dosa it was a flat gigantic pancake made of rice it was two feet long and was tasty cole loved it he used it to pick up the masala and eat his food. I really enjoyed the red sauce that came with the dosa we also got naan and it was perfectly cooked everything was perfect I would say that this is not a fancy restaurant. You get your own plastic forks and knives, napkins, cup and use the water pitcher on the table. as well as pick up after yourself and throw away your trash when finished. If you're comfortable with the self-serve made to order delicious Indian food this is the place to go. we really enjoyed the restaurant and are definitely going to come back. read more

A great spot to have breakfast/brunch. My dosa and idly vadai combo was just what I needed on a cold day in Virginia. Food tasted very much homemade. Their menu looked very reasonably priced and service was very quick as well. The folks who took and served my order were very polite and their ambience was casual and great for groups. On 04/12, we ordered the veg thali expecting a decent meal, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The entire restaurant was in a mess, and the overall experience was very poor. The counter had several additional items displayed, but they were not included in the thali. For the price and expectation, this was absolutely not worth it. I would nominate this as one of the worst thalis in Virginia. read more

Awesome Goat Biriyanii! Food is authentic and very flavorful. Service is excellent and staff is courteous. Ambiance is good and has lot of space for tables and booths. Will come again for dosa night and to try other dishes on the menu. read more

Just got here so took a couple of pictures of the inside. There is a pitcher of water on each table. Place looks clean. Floors have s shine to it. Some Indian families eating here. Good sign for a restaurant. Vey accessible with my wheelchair. The dosa is excellent. My dosa is fabulous but the chicken seems to have a lot of bones. The stew that came with the dosa was way to spicy for my abilities to handle. So I added water and some of the lassi to it. That helped. Lassi as excellent. I loved the dosa so we will be going here again. I am surprised at the two bad reviews. The dosa was fine. Spouse did not like his dish so maybe I jus ordered well. The Indian family ate everything and were happy. So maybe it is more for people who are used to the spices. I didn't notice any smell. Place looked well cleaned. read more

I have to say, one of the best dosas I've tried in Richmond so far. It was very close to the authentic south Indian taste that we get back in India. I absolutely loved the sambhar ( I was so glad to actually see some veggies in the sambar, unlike other places I've tried), and they had 3 varieties of chutney, which were all so delicious. Poori and Chana curry was also tasty, and it was a generous portion size with 3 big pooris. Didn't care much for the egg puffs, I believe I've had better egg puffs. The service was friendly and prompt. I would have loved to see a change in the ambiance and the decor with the change in the name of the restaurant and management. This Cafe style restaurant has the best dosa in Richmond. Don't let.modest appearance fool you l, the food is delicious. For lunch and dinner there is great selection of south Indian and more traditional N. Indian dishes Americans are more familiar with. The service is very matter of fact, but seriously it is about the food. I really don't understand the poor reviews, we have eaten here multiple times and the food is delicious. If you are not familiar with South Indian food let me suggest the following dishes: masala does (giant dosa with spiced otato mixture (think the filling of samosas). We always get madala on the side. The dish will come with amazing sambar ( spicy egetable dipping soupl) and some different chutneys. Love their chaat as well...I am a big fan of papri chat. Give this place a try for yourself and experience South Indian cuisine. It is so different and delicious. read more

Honestly I did a DoorDash order here as a driver and I was made to feel like I was stealing the food , also I did not see what the person ordered however the bag was beyond light .. I know they paid a pretty penny for this and the place smelled so so bad inside .. I won't even accept another order in the store anymore read more
