Terry left such an impression that my wife and I vowed to make Terry's recipe for sauce, meatballs and pasta for Christmas dinner with our daughters. We made pasta, meatballs, tiramisu, and mozzarella wrapped in lemon leaves, and all of this was accompanied by delicious local wine Terry had selected. In addition Terry was a terrific source for local information and we had a great conversation with her about history, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, and Paestum-all places we had or were planning on visiting. She was a wealth of information with her background as an archaeologist as well as delightful! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and highly recommend it if you're in beautiful Sorrento!!!

I was getting discouraged after getting prices ranging from €150-250/person for cooking classes…read morenear Sorrento. I had almost given up until I stumbled onto the Sorrento Cooking School at Esperidi resort. For €60/person (cash only) my husband and I were able to enjoy a four hour cooking class in a beautiful and clean setting. The class was taught by an Italian chef that spoke only a few words of English so she had a British woman (who had been living for years in Italy) to translate for her. Very little was lost in translation. First we made pizza fritti (individually sized fried pizza dough topped with homemade marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, and basil). Afterwards we were treated to a glass of Prosecco and invited to enjoy our pizza outdoors on their beautiful patio complete with tall lemon trees. We also made cheese filled ravioli, white fish and potatoes, and tiramisu. At the end of the class we all sat at a communal table to enjoy the fruits of our labor with as much water and wine as our hearts desired! We were sent home with an apron and a copy of all the recipes we had just prepared. I highly recommend this class for anyone who would like to bring a taste of Italy back home.

His beautiful villa was located off of one of the staircases. There were about 10 or 12 other people. By the end of the night, we were such great friends, that's how Peter brought us all together. He had in-depth explanations, the food sourcing from Italy, where the local ingredients were caught/grown, how to ensure that it is organic, etc. He has an extensive wine cellar in the basement that we did wine tasting in. Super aromatic red wines that he has. We cooked fish, made appetizers, chopped tons of vegetables for risotto, made Oso Buco. He showed us how to cook, gave us instructions for our benefit at home. Chef Vincenzo has an amazing talent of engaging you, Especially the young people in your family. You cut the tomatoes and the garlic, not watch him. You will make your lunch, everyone contributes. Luigi taught our class - he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to teach those of us that didn't speak any Italian (with a little translation help from Maurizio). We made 3 kinds of pizzas, all using equipment we have in our homes for easy duplication of the recipes. I had to save my calzone for dinner as everything was so delicious and filling! Unfortunately with Chef Carmen, I did not find this to be the case and with little option other than to leave a review about my experience in the hopes that it resolves things - although I'm not confident of that fact given the response rate I've received so far. I had arranged a cooking class experience with Chef Carson cooking school at the start of the year (2019). I had put in my deposit and at the proper date, issued full payment for the class. Nothing out of the ordinary and the process was entirely fine from this standpoint. However, I never received my paid for cooking class and ultimately was turned away. It felt like a bait and switch - here I had paid and had confirmation of my payment, but was turned away! I never received the cooking class that I had paid for, and after requesting a refund, never received one either! Incredibly frustrating! I cannot in good faith recommend a place that operates this way and would warn customers from coming here (or so so recognizing that you may not get your paid for services!). The cooking school looks lovely, so imagine those that get service have a great time - but not in our case!
