Great little place to get knick knacks and home furnishings. If you're every stuck for a present, you might be able to find something here too. Price is usually pretty good, and sometimes you can find some real bargains. read more

This is a nice little gift shop located on Queen Street which is just off the High Street. It is…read moreonly a small shop spread out over three floors and it is quite cramped inside so you wouldn't really be able to look around if you have a pushchair or are in a wheelchair. They sell all sorts of contemporary and designer homeware and gifts ranging from photo albums to furniture. The prices are a little high but as they sell mostly designer gifts i suppose this is to be expected. However it is a lovely little shop and it is definitely worth going out of your way to have a look around.

The window displays always look amazing and the shop smells wonderful too. I buy lots of the scented candles and hand made soaps for birthday presents - my friends love them.

The gift toiletries are beautifully packaged, including Isle of Arran's After the Rain range, which I absolutely love. There's Emma Bridgwater crockery (the chunkiness of which I absolutely adore, and which indicates that I am in the type of shop I like, although I've never found an exact design that I would want to buy). There are suitable gifts for the 'older' and sometimes more difficult generation. The shelf of handkerchiefs was prettily arranged; do people still buy these? Birthday and occasion cards are high quality and classy designs, including 3-D cards. The staff smiled and said thank you as we left the shop, which is something to remark upon in this day and age

There are rugby souvenirs and jewellery, T-shirts, postcards and fudge, not to mention little sheep ornaments and toys! The shop is right across the road from the castle so easy to find. I just haven't found a statement that I'd like to make with any of it yet. There are some beautiful things here though, with price tags to go with them. There is lots of jewelry and some greeting cards, and gift type things. What I really love is the little chandeliers that hang by the stairs on display, and the huge selection of fun scarves. There are lots of pillows upstairs that deserve a good look. Some are just beautiful. I can spend hours in this shop. The staff tend to be stand-offish, although not really unfriendly. I've been frequenting this shop for over a year and have not yet had someone ask to help.

For example I recently purchased a book entitled 'Hot Guys with Kittens' for a friend with a penchant for chiselled males and baby animals, and on an entirely different note I got a dummy with a moustache for a mate with a new baby! Literally something for everyone! I'd say the quality of the things they sell all seem pretty high and the owners have great taste in a great range of quirky objets. They also sell a good selection of naughty, pun-tastic and silly cards!

A fantastic jewellery shop in the heart of Bournemouth…read more If you love silver you need to look at this place. It has a fantastic range of earings, bracelets and necklaces, rings and toe rings. A lot of the jewellery is made with gems so there's a whole range of colours to choose from. Some are dainty and some are quite exuberant, and all points in between. The prices are very good too, in my opinion. At the back of the shop you start seeing polished stones as items on their own and then there's incense and burners and natural oils and all sorts of 'new age' type items. There are also some really interesting books on sale. The shop is busy, students from overseas find it, au pairs find it, everyone finds it. The service is good.

As the name suggests this shop overlooking Caerphilly castle is a treasure trove of Welsh gifts of…read moreevery kind. I didn't realise that so many items could have a Welsh theme. Where does one start? Well I spotted Welsh costumes for children/ladies, Welsh dolls, Welsh confectionery, Welsh cards, Welsh books and a whole raft of Welsh novelty goods. I particularly liked the Welsh stencils which can be used if you're adept at face painting on International days!!. The shop also had a good seleciton of Welsh translations of childrens' books I spotted a Welsh horrid history and a Welsh version of Artemis Fowl. There was also a range of books for Welsh learners as well as some general books about famous Welsh characters and some books about the history of Wales. The shop also has a web site of the same name which has an even larger range of products. The owner told me they have customers from all over the world seeking to have a little piece of Wales wherever they may be!
