I can "edit," meaning splice scenes together and lay down a sound track underneath, but reel editing is a whole different business. The most difficult issue is trimming out other actors shots and fudging the underscore so it features you and still makes sense and doesn't seem cut up. This stuff is difficult. I had a ton of new material and needed it to really sing. I went to Gerry and couldn't be happier. He's a friendly, professional guy, in a central location. He's meticulous with his work and makes the edits completely undetectable. He's open to your thoughts, although for the most part I really deferred to his professional advice. He also helped me track down the highest quality clips so my reel looked the best it could. Within 36 hours of contacting him I had a new reel that my agents/mgr loved. He's also the most affordable guy I've seen. I had as perfect an experience as you can have! I'll definitely be a regular. Thanks Gerry!

Not completely satisfied!…read more I booked a session with Patrick for a photoshoot, so I can submit to a modeling contest. Patrick is very nice, talented and very artistic. However, he doesn't communicate and does not give tips or directions. Now, I'm no mind-reader, so I have no idea when to smile, when not to smile, what pose looks best, which way to turn, since I can't see myself. I've worked with other photographers in the past and good photographers really knows how to talk to the subject. Because of this, my photos came out stiff and awkward. I ended up submitting photos from a previous photoshoot, got selected as a contestant and -drum roll please- landed in the top 3! My advice is to always interview your photographer first before working with them.

Experience with this "studio" was very poor. Was caught in a long-winded email exchange with…read moreChristiane before she decided to pass me off to Patrick Chai. After a few more annoying weeks of exchanging emails, we finally booked our session. It was my intention to have photos taken in our wedding attire (for our 1st anniversary), but have shots taken in casual wear as well. This was acknowledged by Patrick via email, but on the day of our shoot it was suddenly an inconvenience to Patrick. Patrick decided that he wanted to go for an industrial look with all our photographs, despite our pleas to have photos taken at Grand Central Market. He offered little direction w/ our poses... so all our shots just look awkward. Not to mention the fact that we did not want to take pictures under a bridge for a "Matrix" effect (I got married in a backyard in a summer dress, not black spandex). We finally made it to Grand Central and it was closing... so there were tarps on most of the cases, which did not create very compelling backdrops. Patrick continued to be annoying and made every effort to dissuade us from being in there. However, the ONLY good shot we received from our session happened to be taken inside GCM. Go figure. We were rushed and bossed around for an hour. Patrick was annoying and flitty and could not stop gushing about how well Photo Poet was doing because of Groupon. When the proofs came back, we were shocked at how poorly composed all the shots were. Just an all around bad experience. Save your money and seek out a better photographer. I don't believe the website is not representative of their work.

She was professional and communicated clearly throughout the whole process. She is very knowledgeable in wedding photography, and knew how to capture every important moment of the day without being obtrusive. She has a great artistic eye, and took visually stunning photos of even the smallest details of the wedding. I also did a follow up bridal shoot with her, where my husband and I got dressed up in our wedding garb once more and did a photo shoot on the beach. She made me feel totally comfortable and confident in front of the camera! I loved the ideas she had for different poses. And the pictures she got were amazing. She knew how to use light and angles to get the most flattering pictures. There were so many good ones it was extremely difficult to narrow down my favorites. I've seen many beautiful wedding photos- in planning my wedding I was bombarded with lovely photos on Pinterest, bridal Instagram accounts, and wedding websites. So I can say without a doubt, Ashley's photos are top of the line. She really knows how to capture romance, intimacy, emotion and excitement. On top of all that, she is very affordable! I'm honestly surprised she doesn't charge more. Most photographers with her experience and fine-art style charge double her price. I highly recommend hiring Ashley for any wedding or engagement shoot! She is the whole package.
