Obviously I've been mostly pleased with their service for 27 years. There were a few bad experiences, mostly due to tellers returning my envelope without my cash withdrawal in it. But today, I found the service to be unacceptable and I will be closing my account. In the Flemington branch, bank manager Lewis told me that the company's policy was to not accept double endorsed checks for deposit. I understand that in today's environment, fraudulent people will present double endorsed checks, take the money and run and the bank is left with the loss. But hello Unity, I'm not going anywhere. I'm 53 years old and a lifelong Hunterdon County resident. The reason for the double endorsement is to help out a friend who cannot obtain a bank account and has no way to cash a check. The fact that Unity ignored my loyalty and basically told me that I was free to go somewhere else because they weren't changing their policy for anything left a bad taste in my mouth. So I will be taking my banking service to Chase Bank in Clinton. And guess what, they have no problem accepting double endorsed checks.

So the people in front of me were helped and I was next in line. The teller with the long blond curly hair looks PAST ME, as a man had just walked in, past where I was standing, and she calls out "I can help you next sir". The man knew I was ahead of him, and he looked at me in disbelief that she had COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. He offered for me to go ahead, but I told him it was ok. It was if I was invisible. I walked out of the bank and did my deposit at the ATM. I don't like B of A anyway, but since the account belongs to my church (I'm treasurer) I had no choice. I was only going to this branch because I had other business in Flemington. I usually go to either the Rocky Hill branch or Hillsborough. Both of those locations are great, but I will NEVER EVER go to the Flemington branch again. IMHO Chase Bank has way better service and better operating hours.
