I recently had a terrible experience with State Farm. I was with Geico and my husband has State…read moreFarm. I called to get a quote on Full coverage for one car (I drive) and liability for another (my 18 year old daughter drives). Was very excited after I was told my insurance with State Farm would be around $60 cheaper than Geico so I paid my down payment of $147 in September and cancelled Geico. The first problem I noticed was that I did not have my own policy and was instead added to my husbands policy. He is not on the title of either vehicle and I really did not want to be on his as a driver. Second problem was that on the third month, and without warning, my monthly payment (November) sky rocketed to $264. I called and sent emails to Mr Rowsey and his other employees over and over trying to get a reasonable explanation. With no response. I finally got through to the lady that originally gave me the quote and she said she made some adjustments and that if my daughter would complete Steer Clear (1st time hearing about this) that would offer a discount and that the price would now be $157. She still never explained how my rate went from $147 to $264. Fast forward to the next monthly bill (December) and this time it is $234. Once again I try to email with no response. Finally I get a call from Niccole, she was rude and continuously talking over me and blaming me for the increase because my daughter did not complete the Steer Clear driving app back in September when I got the quote. I informed her that the lady that gave me the quote never told me that the rate of $147 included a discount for the Steer Clear completion or of course she would have done that. Then she also told me that because I made changes to my coverages online that also made the rate jump up. Which clearly is not true because the changes I made were to lower my monthly rate. I had finally had enough of the lying and bad customer service from this office and went to another insurance company on 12/12/22. The last problem was that I cancelled the same day that the $234 payment was due. It was paid and I assumed the full amount would be refunded. My husband (not me) got a refund in the amount of $163.04 instead of the full amount. Well, isn't that nice. I had State Farm years ago when Terry Bowe had it and the difference in the customer service is night and day. He would call you personally and solve any problems you may be having. He actually had wonderful employees that would call you back quickly. Never rude. I would never recommend this specific State Farm location. I have no idea if Mr Rowsey is a good agent or not because he would never reply.
