It's such a cool vibe in the salon. Many smiles and chatter with clients and hairdressers. There's a nail room here as well. I think there are many regulars. The salons is very clean and tidy. Very modern chic decor. It is in an office building with ample parking. The only complaint I do have is the stairs for entrance making it not ADA friendly. However, sitting in the waiting area I see a "back door" and maybe that's ADA entrance but I'm not sure. I highly recommend this establishment. Jen took out the yellow tiger stripes and blotchy spots, and gave me the most beautiful and natural looking highlights. My hair has dimension and is super shiny again. It was easy to make my appointment, I simply called and they called me back the next day. Everybody at the salon is kind and polite. My stylist was Jasmine and she clearly has a lot of experience. I have locs that need to be interlocked and my hair is very thick and dense so whenever I have a new stylist I am always worried about whether or not they will be able to manage it, but Jasmine did very well. I was in and out of there in 3.5hrs. Unfortunately it was a bit more expensive than I'd anticipated, but I had a ton of new growth so I wasn't to upset about it. Overall while I am here in CT I plan to visit Baswa. I hopefully will be getting my eyebrows done there in the next couple of days. I recommend checking it out!

I told several locticans (she'rae & aniah) about the issue and every time they told me "oh that would be so much work", "oh its not that bad", "oh that wouldn't bother me". The style is a lifetime style and I have been unhappy for the better part of 8 months. 8 months of not taking pictures. 8 months of not unveiling my hair because of the superman S as a middle part. 8 months of straight retwists with a GREAT tip every time. Well, I informed them of the want to fix the middle part. They called me that day and said they wanted $165 for the redo. I got to my appointment and tol them that this has been an unacceptable 8 month journey ans that I would like to receive a bit of a discount on the service because BASWA started the locs. They first told me it was okay for me to help take them out to make the service a bit easier. After doing so, she tells me she doesn't want to service me because ive been unhappy for 8 months. I told them "they are in the position to rectify the situation by FIXING MY HAIR", and they still tried to deny me service. I finally got them to fix their mistakes and was charged the full price, but DO NOT GO THERE! They put whatever in your head (even if its locs that are permanent) and when you want the issues fixed they get mad and want to ban you from there establishment. There's not business integrity anywhere at this place. Client satisfaction means NOTHING to them and for sure word of mouth doesn't eaither. GO TO A LOCTICIAN THAT HAS PRIDE IN THE WORK THEY DO, NOT ONE WHO JUST PUTS WHATEVER THEY WANT IN YOUR HEAD AND MAKES IT A YOU PROBLEM. GO ANYWHERE ELSE AD THANK ME LATER!

One week later, after washing her hair at home, her hair began falling out in clumps. Her curl pattern is completely gone. She described it as her hair "melting." I have photos. As a licensed salon owner myself, I can tell you with certainty: this is consistent with a chemical relaxer being applied without the client's knowledge. This does not happen from a flat iron and blow dry. When my daughter reached out to the salon via WhatsApp to ask what products were used, she received no satisfactory response. We are now in contact with the Connecticut Department of Public Health Cosmetology Board and consulting with an attorney. A formal complaint has been filed. If you have naturally curly or textured hair, especially if you are mixed or Black, please be extremely cautious. What happened to my daughter should never happen to anyone. She went in for a blowout and left with permanent damage to her hair. This review will remain up until this matter is fully resolved.
