I was recommended to AE Kustomz by a buddy so I called ahead to see if this place could help me fix my amateur job of messing with the electrical on one of the lights on my motorcycle. Arash answered and I described what had happened on the phone, he said that he was pretty booked today but to come by and he would try to take a look at it. +3 stars for service---stopped by the shop that day while Arash was working on another SV650, and I explained that I was the one who called earlier so he took some time looking at what had happened on my bike. Arash was definitely helpful, even with his busy schedule he was able to quickly fix the issue I had on my motorcycle and even went out to do a quick inspection of the bike frame, chain, tires, etc. It turns out I've kinda put off changing the oil too so he went ahead and took care of that as well. He even gave me some advice and tips on other maintenance issues so that I would be able to take care of some of the work myself +1 star for prices---It was great that Arash was able to fit me into his busy schedule and help me out with my motorcycle but the prices for the work he did and the HID kits I purchased while I was there was a killer deal as well! +1 star for reliability---Had some complications the next day while I was installing the HID kit for my SV650, thought I wired something wrong so I called up Arash since he gave me his business card and sure enough he walked me through the steps over the phone, a big help, THANKS again! This is my go-to shop for my Kawasaki Ninja and Yamaha Bolt. In a word they have my trust. They've never ever flaked on me when I've had a scheduled appointment with them to get routine servicing done and they've completely up front and honest about labor and material cost. They are meticulous about quality service and I very much appreciate that since I do ride everyday and would not want an avoidable mechanical malfunction to occur in heavy traffic. I've been to other bike shops where the general feeling is it's a completely mechanical process in terms of an assembly line for servicing bikes and the owners feel like just another number. This shop was a little hard to find, but worth the search! I recently moved to California from Colorado and was looking for a shop that I could TRUST. In Colorado, it took me several years before I found a shop that had a quick turn-around and did quality work. This shop happened to be my first stop after reading the yelp reviews and they were very helpful. My bike battery died while at a corner store in Half Moon Bay and I had to buy a new battery to bring the bike home. Usually, I like to do most of the work myself, but this time I could not diagnose which part in the electoral system had failed. AE Kustomz not only allowed me to drop off the bike on the weekend, but had the problem diagnosed early Monday Morning. When I picked up the bike I inspected the issue with Chris, who worked on the bike. He helped me understand what the problem was and how he diagnosed it. On top of everything, he even put on new wire plug connectors, where there were none before, so that I would be able to diagnose a charging issue myself next time. It only took them a couple days to complete the work on my bike which also included new brakes and replacing the seals on my front shocks. I'm very glad that it didn't take as long this time to find a quality shop in the Campbell/San Jose area! read more

I've been trying for a while to find the right motorcycle service people. I've been to almost every shop in SF and I found cheap places, friendly places, places with a good retail selection, but nobody was overly competent. The last service I got left me with a slow oil leak that they couldn't figure out, and around that time I moved down to South Bay so I took the bike to AE. In about 5 seconds Arash saw the problem. Went a couple of months ago to get my frame sliders replaced and honestly I didn't think the job was going to be possible without the damage or replacing of some farings due to me making the job more difficult from trying to do the job myself. But not only were they able to do it they were able to do it quick and buffed out some small scratches on my bike with no extra cost. He also recommend that I tightened my bikes chain so I brought it back a week later and he did it for me on the spot at no cost. Highly recommend this place! read more
