I've seen many families take their little ones here. The facility is old to start. Staff is paid meager wages, and it shows with the quality of staff employed. (Most, not all) It's apparent the facility cares more about making a buck than updating the facility, hiring (and paying for) more qualified of staff. The times I've been in to help with picking up a kiddo, staff doesn't know how to handle kids doing normal kid stuff. Staff doesn't seem to be aware of normal behaviors for certain ages nor how to handle them. Children are often placed up front because the "teachers" can't control/handle those normal behaviors. I've know several families whose child(ren) have been dismissed from the facility for behaviors their so called qualified staff couldn't handle. It's really sad- this facility used to be a great place until the current lady purchased it. I'd steer clear of this place, unless mediocre care is what you're after. read more

I took my youngest son to Adventure Planet from the age of 2 until he started kindergarten. From the age of 10 months old to 2 he was in two different home daycare setting, which was awful. I was looking for a more stable environment, surrounded by kids his own age. The facility isn't as modern with all the bells and whistles as some of the other centers out there, but truly if you trust the teachers, I don't feel I need to watch my kids on the internet all day long. The teachers in each age group, take the time to make crafts which the particular age group can accomplish on their own. The teachers get to know each of the kids, their likes and dislikes, and the little things which set them off. They are also very accommodating to the parents as well. By the age of 4 we were done with taking naps, or my son and I wouldn't sleep at night. They understood he needed to stay away, and would give him quiet activities to prevent him from falling asleep, allowing him to sleep soundly at night. They directors and asst directors not only care about my kiddo, but the whole family. If there was an illness going on in the family, etc they asked, were concerned, and genuinely cared. At the same time, if I ever had a concern/question, I could address it and it was resolved promptly. With the younger ages the communication was good, how many times they went to the bathroom, what they ate, and their overall mood. As they get a little older and can articulate those things, they would tell my son, "tell Mom what you did today, what we ate, etc" to aid in memory retention, understanding, and story telling. I loved watching him grow up there. My son is sad to be leaving, but we know we will be back for the summer school age program and for visits throughout the year. After all, they were my eyes while I was at work for the 9 1/2 hours a day. Today is his last day at Adventure Planet and it will be hard not to be dropping him and picking him up there every day, but a new chapter in his life begins.......KINDERGARTEN here we come!!! This daycare been amazing for our family! Our first child started attending in March of 2013 and now all three of our girls are attending there. Each one of the staff members care deeply about the well-being and safety of our kids, but it goes deeper than that. They want to see the kids thrive and flourish in their development and education. The thing that really stands out the most is how much more advanced our girls are compared to kids who have not been in this setting. Our kids have better social, cognitive and speech skills than others their same age. For instance, our 4 year knows how to count to ten, in Spanish! And our 2 year old (who will be 3 in August of 2016) has excessive language capabilities. We estimate that she has a vocabulary of upwards of 2500 words. Discipline has NEVER been an issue with this facility and we praise them for everything they are doing! read more

Adventure Planet on Central is hands down the best daycare in Wichita my opinion. After moving to Wichita not knowing anyone, I was really uneasy to let just anyone watch my daughter. I looked into many daycares and Adventure Planet stood out immediately. They have an amazing healthy meal plan for the kids and they foster kid's imagination and learning. The staff are amazing and have helped me out so much! I highly recommend them. read more

No no no no to this place. Pulled my children out on day one. I drove to work replaying the events- turned around, gathered them and all of their things and never returned. Hopefully changes have been made as the owner contacted me about my previous, more detailed review. I gave her a lengthy description of the events of that day, and never heard back. Simply put, I was mislead in the phone calls and two tours of the facilities, about multiple aspects of the center. But the reason I went back for my children was when I witness the way the children were "disciplined" by the director. It was stomach churning. The combination of the misinformation and the frightening way the children were treated was enough for me to remove my children & make a small effort to warn other parents through online reviews, because that was part of how I went about choosing a daycare. Reading reviews, trying to find any small piece of insight into the place I was going to take my children. I'm not wasting time writing this review for any reason outside of that. read more

Our daughter attended Adventure Planet from about 12 weeks until age 2. They worked with us to accommodate bringing breastmilk when she was little and then gradually doing a combo with formula as she grew older etc. The directors were responsive to any question I had and were always professional in their communications with me. They have a secure entry with a buzz in system for the main door and a computer system for check in and payment. I like that they have a basement in case of inclement weather. They have a large outdoor play area too. I would recommend Adventure Planet. :) read more

HORRIBLE DAYCARE FACILITY! During the winter there is no place inside for them to burn off energy, they have them watch youtube videos and then EXPECT them to sit and mind all day and got very frustrated with my child over nap time because my child was restless. I could go on... Last and final straw was when my child received a mark on there face from a staff member and NO ONE wanted to explain what happened. Disgusted, disappointed, and i wish i would have took my child out of there sooner. Don't see this place ever changing. The best thing any one could do is not give them business. read more

My son attended this daycare after being transferred from the 13th and west street location due to the issues I was having there. Upon getting him ready for his first day there I took a tour and she already knew how I felt about children taking care of children and the other issues I was having with the other location. Everything was fine until I went to get him one day and was told they had been trying to contact me and couldn't get ahold of me.HOW?!?!?!?! And why didn't anyone call my emergency contact if it was that serious????????? Then he got "sick" one day and was sent home(on a Friday)and was told he couldn't return for 24 hrs I started calling everyday on my lunch break and getting he sounds congested and like he can't breath and he has green stuff in his eyes (some days) & other days I'd get he's doing great mom we will see you later. I buy some cough syrup for cough & mucus relief plus it contains an immunity boost on 4/29 ice even bought a 2nd bottle thinking they would of ran out by 5/20 like I had at home so upon taking the bottle they said they still had one so I decided to give them the new one and take the old one home I opened it and it was still HALF FULL how is it possible after almost a month of giving it to him twice a day????? So I started asking when I called everyday if someone had given him the medicine this is when the real problem began Angela told me to ask his teacher, how am I to ask his teacher if she's gone before I pick up? When I finally seen her she said he hasn't been coughing so they weren't so I instructed her to start giving it to him. I come pick him up the following day and ask again did he receive his medicine I was told no I went to the front desk asked the lady for a conference call she didn't know what I was talking about and proceeded to ask the teenagers who never know what's going on ... what actually was going on. She finally told me the training they had for administering medicine needs to be retaken and there are 2 people 1 at each location who can administer the medicine was Angela (I had been calling her everyday why wouldn't you notify me so I know how to handle it accordingly?)I flew off the handles so I called the next morning and told Angela the same thing I told the teenagers if my son doesn't get the medicine he will not be back. She called me back about 10 minutes after I hung up and left a voicemail that said she reread the authorization paper and she would be giving him his medicine. I called again on my lunch break and spoke with her letting her know his next dose is due at 3 she told me she gave it to him at 11:15 and she had spoken with the director( Holly) about what was going on and they decided it would be his last day. I immediately left work & picked up my son asking for a copy of every piece of paper with his name on it that included the medicine authorization form. They refused to give me a copy of the form the only 2 dates on the form was 4/29 and 5/24 I took a picture of it. I was told Holly has to okay it to be released to me and she would be out of the center until Tuesday. As I look at his daily chart how in the world did he get his medicine at 11 if his nap was from 9:40-11:10? Sounds like they are trying to cover their own behinds and they need to learn to communicate and get straight to the point instead of playing the blame game and passing off responsibility. read more

My son attended this daycare for two years. He started there when he was 4 months old. Shortly after, he started coming home with bite marks almost on a daily basis but the response was "that's just what kids do." After about a year of being bitten almost on a weekly basis, sometimes daily, he started biting back. Classroom teachers were alternated and certain teachers were able to keep an eye on the kids and the biting significantly decreased. He was moved to the 2-2.5 yr old room to a different teacher who informed me that she was just not capable of watching all of the kids in the room and that my 2 yr old son was a "danger to her and the other children." This was surprising considering other teachers had been able to do so. The other teacher in the same class expressed that she never had a problem with him. However to my astonishment, my son was expelled. Yet none of the other children who had bitten my son were disciplined in the same manner. The child who originally started biting my child in the infant room was not expelled because his disabilities were considered "worse" by the office administrator than my child's disabilities. So please reconsider taking your child to this daycare. Although some of the staff was wonderful, truly loved my son and treated him with the utmost kindness. It's clear that the administration unfairly treats children with disabilities and if your child's disability is not the most severe, it is not likely to be taken into consideration nor will they be willing to provide accommodations if the teacher in charge of your child's class finds it to be too much for her to handle. I strongly encourage you to research other options if you are considering sending your child to Adventure Planet Central whether your child has disabilities or not. They will be bitten and when your child begins to express such aggressive actions as a result, your child will be the one punished particularly if their disability is not the most severe at the center. read more

Over the last six years 5 of my 6 children have attended adventure planet at some point in time. I could go on and on about all the wonderful experiences I have had. Good childcare is so important because they are caring for my children while I can't because I have to work. First off they are open many days that other providers aren't. This was so important to me as a working mother because I can't talk off work for an entire week at every holiday. They have also always been so understanding about my financial status. They have worked with me on payments when my vehicle required my financial focus. They have also allowed me to take my kids part time and lowered my tuition in times so that I could afford childcare. They have always worked with my schedule. They have always been more than accommodating to keep up with my changing schedule and lifestyle needs. When I needed a childcare to rely on they have always been there. They have been part of helping my small babies grow into big kids. There discipline procedures were never a worry for me. They would do short time outs or talk it out with my children. I popped in many times unannounced throughout the years and I have always found them doing great and being positive with my children. I also have to say they have several long term staff that know my kids and have been a huge part of helping me feel safe and secure while I was away. I've never had to worry about my kids while I was at work. They also had all my children kindergarten ready and they have been just thriving in school from all the social skills and learning they received from adventure planet. My last thing that I will dote on is their baby room. They did so good respecting my wishes in the baby room (just as they do in all age groups). The teachers were so receptive to how I wanted my breast fed baby to be fed. I even found them with their own literature about pace feeding a breastfed baby. They took so much time and detail when it came to helping keep my baby breastfed. It was time consuming and different than the other babies schedule. They never complained, they went above and beyond to learn the techniques I wanted used. Ms. Naomi, Ms. Viki, Holli, and Nancy have been fabulous. As long as we can afford it I will continue to take my children back. It's very rare to find a childcare so loving and nurturing with quality staff. I have so much to worry about daily with six kids, but one thing I do not need to worry about is the quality of care my children receive when I'm not there. Many placed only receive bad reviews because that is when people think to say something. Well I wanted to give a good review because adventure planet is by far exceptional!!! read more
